Beamer has moved past him IMO, quicker, harder and much more accurate now that he lowers his eyes. He now leads our midfield pack (Junior is on his last legs, that free kick he gave away when he ran into Stokes was ridiculous)

McLean needs to learn how to break a tag.

Incidentally, the hit on Ling and then dump tackle on Ablett was poetry in motion. Shame Kelly Underwood chose to concentrate on how majestic Ablett was than acknowledge the effort.

McLean was garbage today. An insipid, feeble performance from a player who is meant to be one of the club's leaders.

Moloney, on thee other hand, was very good today,and performed admirably.

I'd have to see Moloney tagged and McLean let loose before I'd say that. Brock has been a major part of our last 2 wins. I will give credit to Moloney for a fantastic season.

Today highlighted our deficiencies in the middle and we all no what we hope will be part of the answer come draft day.

I was pretty impressed with Moloney's hardness today, putting himself amongst it against many different Geelong players. He isn't over kicking as much but still struggles a little with punching the ball low and flat to players due to the way he drops the ball. Either way he is leading the way atm.

McLean is simply struggling unfortunately. I hope he can go up a notch for next year - will need a good pre-season.

McLean, as it has been 'well documented' previously, has missed the last two pre-seasons through injury. He also did no sprint training last year.

I can understand why people are frustrated over McLean's performances, but the fact is, with 90% of a preseason under his belt, he is the best inside-midfielder at the club by so far its ridiculous. Having said that, he wouldn't be an automatic selection for the majority of sides this year like he is with us.

He is better than Moloney when fully fit as far as im concerned. If we're going to pick on any of our mids it should be Nathan Jones. If we get Scully or Trengove in the draft, Nathan Jones has zero prospects at Melbourne next year for mine. As much as I like his character and effort, he is a sluggish decision maker and an ordinary disposer of the football...

As far as i'm concerned its McLean>Moloney>Jones...

Geez just to think how highly McLean was rated a year or two ago, and rightly so. May need a change of scenery or something? Doesn't seem like he demands the ball often plus doesn't always do the team things. I still rate him quite highly, but seems as though he has been struggling for the majority of the year. Cast your minds back to last year, McLean (coming off a full preseason) came 2nd in our B+F after playing 13 games. He will hit form again next year.

Although Beamer is actually in the top 25 for possessions and with a high efficiency rate now, apparently. That's certainly something IMO.

As far as Brock is concerned, hopefully he'll be free of his lingering niggles by next season and we can see more of the form he demonstrated last year again...
