Mooney has a habit of slightly touching his opponent in the back before he flies for a mark.
He did this several times in the last match and free kicks were given as a result.
Do any of our other players have habits?

Hands in the back is something the club can work on, Mooney will be the better for it. However sh*t kicking is something you'd expect the player to work on over summer.

To go along with that kicking, check out the handball also. Byrnes always floats it to his team mate, setting him up for a tackle. Happened so many times in the GF, yet still continues today.

You'd expect that players who've been in a system for a few years, would have ironed out some of these glaring lack of skill errors.

Here's a few I can think of:

Ottens - going to ground. While sometimes it's a good thing (e.g. when fighting for the ball after a ruck contest), sometimes it puts him out of the contest (like after leading out for a mark in the forward line).

Hunt - trying to kick the cover off it or stab the ball about 3cm off the ground to his teammate. He's a lovely kick and just like a good golf swing, doesn't need to try to over hit it.

Byrnes - the *main* one is running into trouble on his right side.

Steve Johnson - trying to do too much. Admittedly, when it comes off, he's a genius! :p

D Johnson - too fearless and not enough thought about his own welfare. Flings himself at the ball in some circumstances where he should have held back.

Ablett - Being too awesome.

I will probably get shot down for this but..
Egan - Did it a fair few times last year... He gets in a good 1 on 1 position, out-muscles his opponent but then drops the chest mark and its goaled from a kick off the ground, snap etc. Probably happened 10 or so times last year, and happened the year before that also. Hopefully I will see less and less of this as he gains more experience.

Byrnes, has a habit of being really really shit. We will never win a flag with him in our team...NEVER!

Ummm.... try watching the 2007 Grand Final. You may have to revise that statement.

Ever heard of sarcasm dopey... they guy is clearly joking.

P.S. I want Brynes to do his knee or hit the umpire and get suspended for 400 weeks. I was so happy when Motlop ironed him out.

He is a little champ, nearly kicked goal of the century in the grand final last year...ohh how good it was, i think im gonna have to chuck on that dvd today:)

Mackie- gets smothered a lot, more to do with him kicking so close to opposition players.

Is that where he ran himself into trouble along the boundary, and couldnt get out of it because he has no right foot?

Dont agree with the kicking the cover off the ball, but for someone with such an awesomely long kick he does often try to drill it 3cm off the ground for a 30 meter rocket pass. His opening kick out of last years Grand Final was an example of why he shouldnt do it.

D Johnson - too fearless and not enough thought about his own welfare. Flings himself at the ball in some circumstances where he should have held back.
Same could be said of Lonners

Egan struggles with hands in the back sometimes too.
At least once a match he would accidently 'lose himself' and run himself under the ball leaving an easy mark for an opponent, although admittedly as last season progressed that happened less and less due to our dominance.

SD your killing me here!
the funniest bit is all those who bite every time to give Byrnes a bashing!
noice start to the season............

Dasher - For some reason we give him the kick in (or the "bring back" as some idiot commentators like to call it). He can never find a target he's cofortable with so either chipes it to a guy 15m out or kicks to himself then handballs to a guy under more pressure. I get nervous every time theres a point, thinking "give it to Josh"

Oh, and he likes to go for one handed grabs of the ball...

And he likes to let it bounce rather than running 3 steps foward for a mark.

Other than that he's awesome...LUV HIM!!! Go Dash!!

Now thats not nice. I 'm not a big Byrnes fan but I never want to see anyone from our team get injured or suspended

Joel Corey - Can be clumsy. I've lost count the number of times he has slid over on opponents back when they are on the ground giving away a free.
