I know we dont want to really copy other sides in our quest for success, wanting to make our own way to the top, but there is one point that i came across when reading about the strategies and plans etc of the dawks leading up to this year.

The one thing we have steered clear over the stretch, barring the Craig McRaes of this world are assistants from interstate. And by interstate i am talking about the footy states in WA and SA. Why dont we have people that have some kind of knowledge of the interstate player pool?
I have been a big advocate for the inclusion to the coaching panel of Pressa, who is at the bummers with Knighta. Pressa had a pretty successful stint in the WAFL and would bring some kind of interestate player talent knowledge to the tigers. In other words you get a two for one deal, by having an assistant who has done his apprenticeship and a talent spotter, to help out FJ and CC. ;)

yeah we need to open up ou roptions....
and i think our assistans aren't that great...
rawlings (did little), king (heart nut), royal (average), mcrae (decent small forward)

looking at hawthorn all their ass's were hard nuts that had some sort of decent team or success...

King has been very good with our young players by all reports and he was both a hard nut and a premiership player, so I'd keep him. Ditto McRae. Royal is Wallace's yes man and I'd sack him. Rawlings speaks very well to the troops. Having listened in on a couple of Burger 3/4 time huddles he is calm, measured and organised. Knowing someone who went to school with him, he's apparently an arrogant tool, or he was then. Certainly had undeserved tickets on himself as a player, but I don't mind a bit of arrogance, as long as it's backed up by preparation.
It's all academic though isn't it? Weren't all our assistants re-signed recently?

Why get rid of someone because they have been around for a while??????? surely you have better reasons than that.

Because he doesn't provide any new ideas, just nods and says, "You're right Terry, good idea Terry, the sun shines out of your arse Terry."
