Yes I would expect at least another 2 retirements before/by year's end - Burton, Hentschel and possibly McLeod.

Interesting times ahead folks.

Only BIG concern about losing all these legends at the same time (other than the obvious!) is whether the loss of them takes the draw card away for keeping our kids.

Just saw it. Suggesting that Bock is being heavily chased by GC, Dangerfield by Essendon and that Chris Knights is considering a return to Victoria.

The most comforting thing I reckon jenny is that whenever a new kid comes through and slots a goal we see them all converge and congratulate him. Whenever a Tippett or Mackay or Knights or Dangerfield is interviewed they mention the friendships they've struck and how they feel like's there's a lot of promise ahead "if we stick together". Looks and sounds like they're a tight knit group - we can only hope they will indeed stay and build something special.

they could all be correct, but that doesn't mean they are likely to occur.

I wondered about this a few weeks ago. We had our injuries which obviously are a factor this season, but our year has been so woeful, you start to look for 'conspiracy theories'. I do wonder if someone has signed with the GC, causing a rift. Seeing as though a local in Tippett could turn down the offer "because of the good feeling at the club" the mood could sour if somone else turns out to defect.

The Knights one is nothing new, they've been sprouting that for years. Re Dangerfield, why the f wouldn't you, he's a gun, doesn't mean anything. One week its Bock, next week its Thompson, then the following week its Bock again, make your minds up ffs.

These kinds of rumours always surface when sides are struggling, most generally turn out to be complete bs.

In fairness to hutchy re danger he said he's likely to stay, just reporting the interest in him for drama.

Not much in it really. Bocky being chased by GC and Vic clubs, Thompson undecided, Knights "contemplating" return to Vic- as he seems to do every year- and everyone is chasing Danger- but apparently Essendon are going after any young mid in the AFL out of contract- Boak, Sidebottom etc.

Hutchy expects Danger to stay- as his Dad flagged earlier in the year.

Nothing really to be concerned about I wouldnt think

Hope you're right!

I can't help but think there are nervous times ahead

What is potatohead talking about?

Craig Hutchings has just been on the footy show making us seem like a rabble. He obviously discussed the Edwards situation re early retirement. However, he then went on to infer that Thompson. Bock and Knights wouldn't be at the AFC in 2011
I am gutted about the early(?) departure of Tyson.
But where did he conjure up this other stuff? He did not even acknowledge that Knights had just had surgery.
Was he just making a short story a bit more suitable for TV in this time slot?
Who does he have to answer to if he completely dribbles on with just crap?

How many players are still to be re-signed to new contracts ......always a good time for player managers to float rumors

Particularly when you have veterans on large pay packets retiring and money available in your salary cap

There aren't any nervous times ahead, these stories will continue to pop up all year. If we were in the top 8 atm, they wouldn't have even surfaced.

It could all be true. Non of it could be true. The later more likely.

We have lost two of our all time greats this week. We should focus on their great service.

If others decide to leave so be it. We can and will recover.

Do you know why? Because of you and I. The Members. We won't ever leave and therefore we will always be the AFC. That is the truth. Even though I don't like many of you.:)

ps craigy and triggy have had a hand in it too;)

You would have to think that Knights being out most of the year will hurt his interest from other clubs. With most of our seniors leaving there will be enough cap room to ensure that players will be offered decent contracts for next season onwards.

My grave concerns that Ive been expressing for the past three years have all of a sudden grow legs:(

I feel this is the beginning of the biggest ever walkout the club has ever experienced in its history.

Clearly something isnt right at the Adelaide Football Club:(
