The moron who took his 8 month old son with him in a stolen car & held up a Red Rooster store in Perth, he left his baby in the car during the hold up & then drove to the Wembley hotel, ordered a drink & passed out, he was high on drugs at the time & before people ask, he was white.

On one of those shows on channel 7 where they use all the footage from police chases and what not, there was a 14 year old boy they caught after a chase with a 6 month old baby in the back of his car. It was his child too. Niiice.

What does him being white have to do with anything?

I'd say she stated that to pre-empt anyone who might be tempted to pigeon-hole this sort of act based on race.

instead, she actually raised more questions about it than if she hadnt stated it.

Makes me wonder about the type of person that has to qualify a statement like that.

Did you automatically assume that this act was done by a non-white person mantis?

So, did he buy the drugs off a black guy? I'm confused.

That's disgraceful, where there no KFC's around? you can't even use the Pepsi excuse in WA. Coke in KFC?

Ask yourself why mantis found it necessary to ensure a stereotype was avoided.

A type of person who's had their fill of witnessing the wrong, bigoted, conclusion being jumped to?

I suppose I should leave this to mantis to answer but obviously you DID ask yourself the question I suggested up at the top of this post, and the answer you came up with is at odds with the one I arrived at.

more probably going out of her way to make the point that a white man committed the crime, and attempting to smear a stigma.

i was reading it and the thought of race hadnt even popped into my head until she brought it up, and infact if anything, she leaves the impression that this sort of thing is generally perpetrated by non-white people.

Whatever. Doesn't seem the case to me, it is obvious that the impression isn't that this sort of thing is generally perpetrated by non-white people, rather this sort of thing is generally BLAMED upon non-white people. I'm now guilty of taking the thread off-topic, or mouldy bread is, anyway, though not deliberately, so I'll bugger off.

As of a few weeks ago we still had Pepsi at KFC in WA. Not to mention that Red Rooster is several mortgages on my lunch cheaper than KFC...

Geeze, I see the kiddies invaded this topic, OH well.

You are right Mobbs, living in WA, it is pretty much assumed by a lot of people, that the perpetrator will be aboriginal, so I just wanted to point out the fact that it wasn't true from the start.

Fortunatley the 11 month old baby is OK & has been returned to his Mum & Grandma.

I guess they can be thankful that the kid was safe with this guy, and not anywhere near a vicious baby-killing pitbull.

And mantis, you are the biggest racist on bigfooty with a comment like that.

It used to be great going to work with dad when I was young. don't hear of many kids getting to spend time with their fathers much these days. Good on him. ;)
