Who do you believe has been our most improved player this season?
Personally I'd go for Collins closely followed by Jackson.

This poll is flawed.

Rance and Collins didnt play AFL footy last season. What are we comparing them to, the improvement in the 8 or 9 games they've played? :)

As posted above Collins and Rance are hard to compare.

Jackson for me I have always rated and it's no surprise to me of his form this year

But I voted Tambling:thumbsu: his form this year compared to previous years is nothing short of amazing. I struggle to comprehend how much better he is playing this year (in particular the last 6 or so games) than last year. What was his problem? Mental? Confidence? Suddenly found some talent in his locker?

Graham is coming on nicely and given some more games(over the next season or two) he will be a more than servicable ruck.

i'd have to say gus. but it is good to see we have a number of kids either comming on or stepping up a gear.

You can't pick Collins because he debuted this year so there isn't a previous year to measure him by at the elite level.

For me, it's Jackson over Polo...

:)JACKSON easily. Showed little in five previous seasons and has become quite effective.
Couldn't go for Tambling - shown glimpses in the past and had some very good games, just lacked consistency and unfortunately had tossed up some shockers, but always thought it might only be a matter of time before it all came together.
Encouraging to see quite a few have improved. Polo obviously, the emergence of Collins (maceman ... the fact he is playing seniors as opposed to reserves shows improvement!), Graham and I'd lump in McGuane. He was good last year but I think he's a taken a few more steps forward.
Mitch Morton, like McGuane, has improved on a good 2008 season too.
The improvements have helped - to a degree - offset the obvious steps backwards a few of our guys have taken.
The likes of Simmonds, Moore, Schulz and Brown.

Tambling has improved each year. I'm not surprised he's playing like he is. The pressure he's been under from media and some supporters has been farcical. Aaron Davey took a while to even get a team to take him let alone play good footy in the seniors. Chance Bateman took forever to hit his peak yet some expected Tambling to be an instant hit. He didn't meet some people's expectations and has been slaughtered for it. Only 22 and already played 85 games. Set for a great career.
Jackson would be my pick for most improved. He's not just tagging, he's getting the ball more.

Jackson for me, Gus has improved alot but we still have to see a bit more out of him before we start getting to excited he has only played 3-4 good games, if he plays some good consistent footy for the rest of the year then it would be hard not to give it to him considering Jackson started playing some good footy towards the end of last year.

You cant really judge Polo he wasn't been giving much of a opportunity under Wallace even when he was playing very good in the VFL (last year)

You could pick just about all of them though I chose Jackson simply because nearly every game this year he has been in our bests. In saying that towards the end of last year he was showing this sort of form so I suppose it's not such a suprise.

Jackson - gone from average to very very good midfielder. Probably a little underated by the football public at the moment.

Tambling and McGuane would be my second and third picks.

Tambling was okay, but looks to be on the rise now to becoming quite a good player. Also showing some consistancy which is what he's been lacking.

McGuane for mine has been our best defender and has developed into a strong marking stopper as well as providing some run out of defence.

Graham definetly, showed nothing previously and now has become a very good ruckmen

graham for sure, followed by jackson, jackson wast bad last season but sure has taken a big step. a 189 cm tagger who is tough, racks them up and runs all day, you dont find them too often.

Atm its Jackson, but on current form Tambling, if he can sustain this level he will be the most improved.

Do I need to dredge up some of the things said about Gus this pre season? Surely it is him by a straight.

I just want to point out how GREAT it is to be having this kind of debate.

In fact it's surprising how poorly we have done given the amount of players who have improved. Really shows how much we miss Richo and the drop off of some others....

For mine it's got to be Jackson who is the Most improved in the whole AFL for mine. But there are definate arguements for Tambling, Collins, Graham and Rance as well.
