Ive only included guys who ive seen play, but who of those do you think is the most unfullfilled talent

i dont know how modra is unfulfilled tallent. extremely unlucky to not win a premiership medal. i cried when he went down in the 97 prelim, and probably again when he wasnt included in the 98 GF. having said that, he did win a coleman medal, kicked like 120 goals in 93, and took some of the best marks ever.
heuskes retired at 24 or so years old for no apparent reason. this is more unfulfilled than ive heard.

(duno who adrian mcadam is)

Kicked something ridiculous like 90 goals in his first 24 games or something. He broke his jaw and never played again.

And Modra retired way too early coz he lost passion for the game. So I would say that is unfulfilled talent.

geez thats crazy by mcadam.
yeah i sorta agree on modra. despite his amazing talent, he won't be remembered as the superstar that he was.

Travis Johnstone has played a couple of games which IMO is better than Judds best. 2002 preliminary final but he's never really seemed to reach those heights

i agree.
however judd is a freak because he can do what he does consistently.
johnstone is way to inconsistent though, which is disappointing, cos he's great to watch when he's on.

totally agree with you. judd is the 10x the player TJ is, which is a real shame cause Melbourne has been crying out for an out and out star since Flower left the club. Hopefully Brock can achieve that.

Modra ?!?!?!?! Gun. How many goals did he end up with (and cars for mark of the year while you`re at it)
Not even close to some of the other players on this thread. Modra was a glorified Warwick Capper. A mark and kick. Some of the things Jakovich & McAdam could do was way over the radar of anything Modra could've conjured up. Modra got all of what there was to get out of his career.

I reckon that Damian Cupido wasted his chance. Big skills, small heart.

For the Hawks, Johnny Barker looked like he could do anything after 2001 and was then ruined by injury.

Agree on the last bit, not the capper bit.

Modra had an awesome goals-games ratio, atleast before his knee ruined his career. It was comprable to Lockett, Ablett and Dunstall. They are all greats of the game. Modra was cut short by injury

Its arguable that Modra could have been better, but he was still undoubtedly a fantastic player. No one else in this thread had a career that could be mentioned in the same breath as Modra. McAdam for me

Whitnall.

Burst onto the scene as a 17 year old in 1997, having a great debut game. Through 1998 to 2000 he kicked 46, 55 and 70 goals respectively from CHF, earning an AA spot when he was 20 years of age. People were raving, he could've been anything if only he applied himself.

Sadly, the rest is history.
