Goodes gets off for leaving the ground and making forceful contact to the head, Fyfe bumps with a tiny incidental head clash, two weeks.

This game is going down the ****ing toilet

There is a very simple solution for this.

We don't play for the first 3 weeks, as the MRP sorts itself out with whatever dumbarse rule that AFL House implements, and all is sweet in the world.

Or, we just deal with it.

The funny thing about that is we have a preseason. A time for players to get up to speed with the game, a time for coaches to tinker with game plans and try out new talent and a time for the circus that is the MRP and rules committee to sort their shit out before attempting to mortgage a teams season trying to get the interpretations of rules correct.

I want to know how Harvey gets off for his round arm and Steve Johnson gets a week for leaning his head into Crowley's face.

And Goodes gets off because he plays for Sydney and has a tan.
Possibly his status as Australian of the Year could influence them, similarly his standing as a dual Brownlow winner and the fact that he plays for Sydney are definite possibilities, the process being incomprehensible, unpredictable and arbitrary is enormous;the fact that he is Aboriginal very unlikely if you ask me,unless you're suggesting there was an Indigenous Round moratorium.
Creepy's conviction remains the benchmark for the random nature of their judgements;you know there must be an explanation somewhere but you can't figure what it might be.:eek:

Or how Crowley can get a week last year based on nothing more than Harvey's 'word'.

Wasn't it just a fine? And the tarnishing of Crowley's good name?

I must say, he certainly looks like a villain at the moment. That black hair, a few strands falling over his forehead; a leering, jackal-like grin; and the short beard he is developing. Needs a top hat and a swagger stick to complete the look.

Funny you say that cos when Cometti said on the weekend that Creepy had something about him that made him a candidate for a Woody Allen movie I thought 'more like the Cohen brothers'.

Oh yeah sorry $1200 fine, still bullshit.

I still don't understand how you can blame Harvey for the MRP citing him and the Tribunal not only throwing out his appeal, they increased the fine for wasting their time.

All Harvey asked was for the umpire on the day to do his job properly and make sure he kept an eye on behind the play incidents, he wasn't the one asking for him to get fined.

I think Fremantle handled it poorly, the legal tactic to call into question the honesty of a player has never really been done before and the back-hand the club got in the Tribunal I doubt someone else will try that again and for that everyone should be thankful, imagine if Pav was the victim of something, gets called up to the Tribunal and some slimy lawyer tries to tarnish his image by calling him a liar just because he was called to give evidence. It should not be tolerated.

As for his incident against Duckwood, he made contact high, was very lucky to get off. The difference between what is forceful and what isn't is pretty grey. Anytime you make high contact you are rolling the dice and are fortunate to get off.

Because he squealed would be my first reaction, and because he compounded the squealing with a lie would be my second reaction.

Now go away before I give you my third reaction.

A player blatantly trying to get their opponent convicted of an 'offence' not a single person or camera picked up has never really been done before either.

If Harvey hadn't acted like an honourless twat our lawyers wouldn't have had to try reveal him as one.

Just saw the Harvey one.

Dear god, he's a dirty little pr!ck. That was definitely hard enough to be a strike. But Harvey always strikes with a round arm and an open hand to squirm his way out of a suspension.

How that isn't at least a reprimand completely befuddles me. He intentionally smacked Selwood in the jaw with the heel of his hand. Not giving Harvey a reprimand for it basically says it's OK for guys to whack each other in the jaw, as long as they do it with an open hand.

That's just a straight out sh*t look. This isn't karate FFS.

Then why didn't he appeal it further? There was a higher level of appeal and failing that a court of appeal if he felt he had his reputation unfairly tarnished.

At some point pragmatism has to win out and you start focusing on the next game.

It was pretty obvious Crowley was never going to get a fair hearing from the VFL boys club.

Yeah, I don't think so. He has no history of doing anything like that and he is tagged every week. Ballantyne was fined in 2010 for what? Pinching Ablett. You guys have history doing it, why the feigned indignity?

Like Ballantyne was unfairly maligned for pinching Ablett in 2010? What is it about poor Freo that makes opposition clubs think your guys pinch the guys you are tagging? ;)

Crowley has moved on, it is just the Freo supporters who can't let go.

You don't read very well, do you?
