Came here to type this (re Pedlar) and I couldn’t have said it better Jeff.

I don’t think he’ll ever play another senior game for the club unless there’s about 5 simultaneous injuries to small/mediums ahead of him. Tbh, I’d pick all of Schoenberg, Berry, Cook, Ryan and Dowling ahead of Pedlar without blinking, and none of them are going to be anywhere near the Rd 1 side. Goes without saying that Nank and Taylor are also ahead of Pedlar, and it doesn’t appear as though either of those two are playing in Rd 1 either.

***Note: Nank and Taylor would BOTH be in the Rd 1 side if I had anything to do with it. Playing Milera and Laird over Nank is garbage and I would absolutely find a way to get Taylor in there also, even if it squeezed out Draper initially.

Pedlar is done IMO.

Not writing off Pedlar yet completely but am writing him off as an AFL midfielder

Has a chance as a forward if he gets some games together , but he will start in sanfl

Nicks will give him chances at some point this season IMO

How was Milera?

He wasn’t bad but he wasn’t great either

Looked to be playing it pretty safe which is what we will get for 2-3 months until he gets confidence in his body

Nank looked the better option and one of the better players for us over the night ( even taking in fact he mostly player against lesser oppo )

You can forgive Wayne a bit, nerves would have been huge.

But its the reason why he needs to start in the 2s

I don't have Kayo and by the sounds of it I don't want it.
I am curious though from those who watched the game.....how did Fog go? He didn't seem to kick a goal and not much has been written about him all pre-season.

Against the 1s he came on in 3rd and played half back then he moved to wing against the ‘ressies’

To me he’s better at half back and should make starting side at half back with hinge the other half back

Haven’t been excited about him for a good while but Laird pleasantly surprised me at half back

Reckon he will go ok this year and just be a better team mate than last year after embracing the role

Also great to not need him in mid

We are a poor D50 ground ball team by the numbers and he will help that improve , ball use was ok last night which will be the worry

I agree with cumming best spot half back but I think he’s almost as effective on wing

Nank creativity , agility and raw speed as well as height suit half back in my opinion . Without him we lack a bit of speed back there in back half

They had some issues early in the pregnancy too, so having a healthy little one would have felt that extra bit of a relief.

Imo today was confirmation of what many of us are thinking that Milera needs to spend a good month in the sanfl to get his mojo back.

Given our depth with players like Nankervis, there is no need to play Milera before he is ready after another long lay off.

I'm not even convinced he is best 23 any more.

Give him time but he was very disappointing.

Please tell me the highlights of Cook’s game.

Imho Bond and Nankervis are a real chance for round one, plus Taylor and Dowling are a sneaky chance. I would be very surprised if Schoenberg, Berry, Cook, Ryan and Edwards feature in the trial against Brisbane.

Still got to fit in Rankine, Cumming, Michalanny and Sholl. You think Nank and Bond will make it too?

Give him time but he was very disappointing.

I think he was just very average.

Hopefully better for the run, but Nankervis stepped ahead of him for mine (though I've always had him ideally in the SANFL for the first month).
