In the past couple of games he has been tagged pretty well by Polo and mcqualter. I was just wondering if any 1 was at the game what hi work rate is like.
Is him being tagged out of the game something to worry about, with him being young or will he learn to cope with it and have the same impact he had at the beginning of the year.

Methinks that it wont be long b4 the opposition starts 2 put some work in2 gibbs so this might free up the smurf a bit.

Did not see enough of him last night to know if he was tagged or not. Perhaps it was the greatest tag or Murph just was not switched on

Mcqualter the dog followed him everywhere.
Maybe so but I hardly saw him getting in and under or around a bounce etc. Even being tagged he did not seem to want to force the issue and take the game on. Gibbs was like that. He waited for the game to come to him but in the last 2 games has gone and got the ball by putting himself where the game is at!

The fact that he's being tagged even with Judd and Stevens still around, means that teams now know the damage he can do.

If Gibbs can continue to step up, then we'll have a fourth mid who could demand a tag and would give many teams headaches.

Murph will be alright. Remember it's only his third year - still plenty to learn. I have no doubts in him what so ever.

I think our most recent game against Collingwood made a lot of opposition coaches wary of totally focussing on Judd while letting Murphy run his own race. He chopped up Collingwood significantly in that match, keeping us in touch & forcing Malthouse to move Rhyce Shaw on to Murphy, thus freeing up Judd long enough to turn the game our way.

Opposition clubs will be loathe to allow Murphy a free rein, because a 25-30 possession game by Murphy really hurts the opposition & as we move forward, Carlton won't lose too many games when Murphy does have 25-30 possessions.
