9. Swan
8. Lockyer
8. Burns
7. Thomas
7. Rocca

Honourable mentions: Heater, O'Bree and Josh.

Pretty spot on I think

Thomas and Pendles both looked really, really good. So much poise, it's unbelievable

And gez I hope Lockyer plays like this all year

My votes -

8 - Burns
8 - Lockyer
7 - Thomas
7 - Swan
6 - Rocca

Special Mention to the rookies - Toovey (3 goals, excellent debut), D1ck (alot of upside, looks as though he has that something special) and Coxy (good, solid debut, did his job down back allnight).
R Shaw just missed a vote, was very good of half back
Fraser excellent last quarter. Good come back from a ordinary 3 quarters.
Medhurst 4 goals, lead and presented well in the second half.
O'Brien continues to get better every game he plays.

Swan gets 6 votes for 35 possessions, 11 marks, 4 tackles and a goal...

You've got a heart of steel jabso...

I'm changing it to 7. I gave him 6 because in the first half even though he got a lot of it, he didn't do much with it. However I gave Rocca 7 despite his even poorer first half.

I am quite amazed at how Lockyer is playing despite it being early days. His weaknesses were always:
- Despite his nice skills he took the wrong option a lot of the time and made alot of mistakes
- he was slow
- crap one on one
- not intense enough
- doesn't get enough of the hard ball, yet not damaging enough to be an outside mid.

I think he has improved on every single one of those points.

Yes, his form has had me scratching my head this year. It makes you wonder what the catalyst for this improvement has been.

Tarkyn Lockyer easily one of the most improved players at the club, let alone the league.

Even better, he is playing in the midfield, where he was a success before he did his knee in 2003. Great to see...we all knew Tarks would be a great player in 2007 four years ago.

Personally I don't think he has improved that much, I mean, seriously, he was All-Australian material at the half-way mark in 2006 (no joke) but was exposed in the second half as a defender.

Round 3 Totals
D.Swan 42
T.Lockyer 42
S. Burns 40
D. Thomas 37
A. Rocca 28
R. Shaw 7

A really high voting round with only 6 different players getting votes. The 5 voters couldn't split Lockyer and Swan's game. Burns and Thomas weren't far off the mark while Rocca despite being named BOG by the Herald Sun was only rated the 5th best on ground, probably due to his poor first half.
