Please feel free to share discuss class setups, gameplay tactics (for different game types) either solo or team based, and glitch/bug experiences.

I've been trialing some "Riot Shield" setups with mixed K:D success. Enjoy watching players unload their clips at me as I encroach before bashing them dead (or using 2ndary on them whilst they reload)... but I normally get bored with it after the first 5 mins of a match.

Cheers

Step 1: Be a bitchass camper/sniper
Step 2: ...
Step 3: Profit!

Don't try and run and gun. On 90% of the maps it just won't work. The same can be said for trying to use SMG class weapons. There is no point. Pick your favourite Assault class weapon and go hide in a corner.

I'm sorry for starting off the thread with a sarcastic comment, but I'm still sad I can't enjoy Modern Warfare 2 the same way that I spent days and days played Call of Duty 4 (RUNNING AND GUNNING FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T READ)

/end rant

Constructive one liners:

Perks:
- Bling is the best Perk 1
- Stopping Power is STILL the best Perk 2
- Perk 3 sucks, who cares what you choose...Scrambler should be awesome but it stinks

Killstreaks:
- Sentry Gun is pretty awesome for 4 kills
- Predator Missile however is not awesome for 5 kills
- I suck too much at this game to get more than 5 kills

Attachments:
- Rapid Fire and FMJ are pretty cool additions
- Silencers are as good as ever, especially since you can cheat and use them with RDS!
- Who allowed silencers on Sniper Rifle, seriously?

Exceptions are the rooftop stage, sub base, and the raining one. I go akimbo p90's with rapid fire on those and just own.

The rest definitely require something longer range

UMP(Silenced, Damage boost FMG??), Bling, Cold Blooded, Ninga, Tactical Insursion.

Sneak behind the enemy, place insursiom and shoot them all in the back, when they kill you your still near them all.

I don't whinge about campers. There may be more people trying it on that in COD4, but there's also a lot more ways to combat it (scrambler, cold blooded etc)

Once you learn the maps and know where they generally are (like around the bombed out BTR's in wasteland) i can't say its a massive deal

Pretty much the only kills I get are from killing people who are mindlessly camping (that and just walking behind people who don't check their back). There's usually some vantage point that you can kill them from that they aren't checking.

Oh and sorry camo I didn't know hardcore enabled friendly kills!

my kdr is woeful due to run n gun (and red ping)

i just cant get the feel of these maps

i find it funny that everyone camps and everyone whinges about campers during the game

you have said nothing positive about the game. if you can't deal with your issues don't continue to bring them up. Put the game down and come back in 2 weeks when maybe IW fix your lag issues. basicly I am sick of reading your whinging

I run 3 stock classes. all wiht the semi automatic shotgun (awesome weapon)

Assualt rifle unlocked the 3 bullet burst (red dot or holigraphic), sleight of hands, stopping power, commando

SMG with rapid fire, with scavenger, cold blood and *cant remember third perk*

and a silent class

havent got into the snipers yet. maybe I might start with them but I dont find them necessary.

Maps like underpass, sub base flavela can all use the smg.'s.

i use the silent class running through wasteland. Find it quite effective, can flank around the snipers and take out a few of their players. If you arent in the underground centre bit a strong bet is that they will be. Good numbers to be had in there.

The map with all the shops, blown up tanks and rubble is the most frustrating level. Struggle to get better k/d

M4 thermal + silencer in that level = pwnage.

I just use the same for every situation coz I'm lazy and shit.
SCAR bling w/Thermal and Heartbeat. Helps prepare for what's nearby and easier to pick off people hiding behind cover with just their head sticking out because of the thermal. Although the major drawback is the sway.

What do people think of throwing knives?

Heartbeat is too distracting for run and gun, spend half the time looking at the monitor and end up getting killed from behind.
Throwing knives are good for nice looking kills but thats about it.

You've got to learn not to rely on the heartbeat sensor. Another trick is to learn it's pulsing pattern so that you only look at it at the right time (i.e. run, stop running, check it when it pulsates).

It's more an anti-camp/stalker device.

I ditched it due to the distraction factor, I find it far easier to use the radar, switch to the shotty and blow their head off or knife them.

Best kill so far was a guy crouching behind a wall using his laptop to call in a harrier, I crept up, stood over him and stabbed him in the top of the head for the winning kill, it was simply awesome to watch in replay...

Yeah i can't do the heartbeat sensor. I thought it'd be the ducks nuts, and some people seem to absolutely own with it, but as soon as i got it i'd be getting pinged from across the stage.

I don't have that innate ability to do 2 things at once. I suppose as you guys say, you can't rely on it. But it ended up costing me deaths i think

lmao don't worry about it mate....i just couldn't believe you stabbed me in the back when i was prone waiting for those people to come through the main terminal then i was going to run around the side again and flank the rest of them (i was one kill off a predator missile to ya prick!) hahahaha

and your question below about the throwing knives, i think they're awesome!
i don't actually have it unlocked and havn't used one myself but i've had one thrown at me (by MattHFC psn MATTRlX_) and even though it missed me it got my heart pumping big time coz i didn't expect it...it was just so freakon quick!

i'm in the same boat....i picked up another weapon since my primary weapon ran out of ammo and it had a heartbeat monitor and simply cause i wanted to see what it was like i walked around with it slowly looking at the reading and BAM! dead. lol
(i'm not very good at multi-tasking.)

also i gotta say i hate them as well
on....derailed? i think it was....my phone rang mid-game so i hid at the other side of the map prone while on the phone and two guys with heart beat monitors bloody killed me!
just see them on killcam walking then see the little dot then turn to me....pause a bit then shoot me while i'm not even holding my controller haha

the game deserves to be slated and whinged about - so much hype yet so much fail

and the post of mine you quote to whinge about im not even complaining in

ps i love the heartbeat sensor - agree that it gets difficult to multi task but without the sensor i feel lost in the maps

positive enough?

No you sais you feel lost, you missarable bastard.:D

Any tips for not getting absolutely owned?

I think my k/d ration is like 1:3 lol. Not that I really care too much, but woul dbe nice to get better.

Is it pretty much just practice, considering i only got it a few days ago and dint play cod4?
