I have my steaks medium rare and I reckon one steak out of ten I order at a restaurant is delivered to me medium rare. Generally, they are medium and occasionally rare. It is very hard to cook a steak medium rare and they have to do it for 10 of the group.

Should not have gone with steak, ladies.

Glorified Chicken Nuggets for entree....

Hmmmmm

MKR will never have a controversial outspoken team leave early regardless of food served so I fully expect a score over 100 for these 2 stuck up campaigners.
' did some fall off the plate? '

Gee thats a poor entree.

Agree.

Females and steaks just dont mix! That pan needed to be smoking hot before even attempting to put a scotch fillet on it. Sear the outsides really quickly and the inside will then take care of it itself. They have not even got any char on the outside, the one thing they did do right though was to oil the steak and not the pan. It was just not hot enough.

Very risky dish to pick for instant restaurant. It needs to be perfect.

Plus I find this main kinda of random

Exactly. Room temp steak. Smoking hot pan. Literally. If it doesn't make a searing sound and smoke when you put it in the pan, it is nowhere near hot enough.

They have got the steak wrong and it looks boiled to me.

Hence put in a pan to cold from the start and you cannot rescue it from there. Steak needs the char on the outside you only get from the initial heat of a smoking hot pan. On the stove top it is hard with domestic burners and they needed a cast iron grill pan with the sharp fins as a normal fry pan will boil the meat.

Yep. Steak is so inconsistent to cook for 1 or 2. Let alone 16. The only way doing it 16 times consistently is via Sous Vide.

Easier to do on a gas stove than an electric one. I personally have found outside of a cast iron skillet or griddle pan, the best fry pan for steak is a little $5 camp frypan I got from K Mart. Holds and traps heat so well.

I reckon my whole neighborhood knows when I cook steak for the family!

Smoke alarms going off left right and center and the fire brigade close to being called!

Sheesh I am just cooking steaks! 🤣

SAME. When I cook, my smoke alarm goes off and my next door neighbour will text me 'Steak smells good. Where's mine?'

Heat beads on the Weber are the best but a lot stuffing around just for say 4 Scotch fillets.

Domestic stove top burners we all have at home in our kitchens just don’t cut it for the heat required to perfectly cook a steak.

Yep. Charcoal kettle barbecues are amazing. Lovely smokey flavour too.

My friend has used a few different items to cook steak. Portable pizza ovens, sandwich presses etc.

The Furno Woodfired pizza ovens are magificent and they are 1k from Bunnings but worth every cent! If you can master dough making you will never order a pizza again!

Ultimately, the beauty queens (cough) just didn't have their pans hot enough to cook those steaks so they just boiled them in butter. What a waste of meat. Second mistake was buying scotch fillets from Coles. Milly had it dead right about the scores. What's the point of having the best score in round 1 and not winning the show as what often happens. The ones who win the show survive and learn early on, and produce their best when it counts (at the end). Plus, I've never seen other contestants give all tens. Even if it was the perfect meal the other teams will mark it down for something. So getting a perfect score in the home rounds is impossible really. And to get a big score you need to have a good menu, and smoked cod croquettes is never on a good menu. These women deserve to be in the elimination.

Apart from the obvious and almost throwing my remote at the Telly when I seen how they were cooking the steaks, it does my head I’m watching them buy steaks from coles (yeah, I understand the sponsor deal and all shopping at coles) but it’s just not realistic walking past the butchers to buy steak at coles!

The American isn't happy, she can't accept her low scores
I don't blame her. Australians are known for their bigotry.. Just look how those lovely homeschooled boys were treated.
