Sorry, I just came across this thread. Good to see you rate McGough anyway.

I'm happier with McGough than Ackland although I'm trying to ignore the comments from Port supporters (and their friends) because they seem to have an axe to grind with him. The fact is he was never going to get a game ahead of Brogan, Lade and Primus when he returns. Whether that was down to form, injuries or a bad work ethic it doesn't matter anymore.

Except Jayson Daniels but he was in a league of his own.

By playing the likes of Blake, Thompson and Powell every week I think Thommo values players that are hard at it and win a lot of the ball ahead of how they dispose of it. Remains to be seen whether McGough will be good enough but if all goes to plan form and injury wise he'll only be getting a game if he's playing good footy.

No way known that he was worse than Jason Wild!

I meant for players that deserve to be at AF level! So basically exclude anyone that played 0-50 games for us between 94 and 99.
