I really rate Craig Bird, but you'd think his spot is under pressure. When i try to do a best 22, he's one of the ones that i'm squeezing in and out.

While he gives 100%, he doesn't have the pace of someone like BJ, Harry or Towers. With Mitchell and Parker moving more in the middle, that forward/tagger role he plays might be better suited to a faster runner. BJ would be my pick, as he has pace but can tackle, so might be a decent tagging type.

If we go with the 2 rucks one of the mids will miss out no doubt

I don't think i said that? I said the role he plays might be under pressure... that forward/tagger/part-time mid role might go. We seem to have specifically recruited pace in the past few years. We must be planning to use it, and it seems Harry, BJ, Towers all played a bit in a position similar to that Bird normally plays. And my pick was BJ, not Towers.

But it's pure speculation. I have no idea what the coaches plan is, and i would be happy and not at all surprised to see Bird line up Round 1.

What makes you think Harry is in front of BJ? Just curious.

BJ's body needs a bit more maturing as well

Very hard team to pick . To think we still have buddy, Tippett, pyke, goodes(hopefully), jetta, AJ, lrt to come in, gives me a headache just thinking about it .

Super excited about Reid this year, I know it was only nab challenge but he looked to have his confidence back. Took some very good grabs

I talked to the International people and they said International subscription would not affect Smart Replay as they are different companies and don't share data. Smart Replay is still telling me I am an International roamer and not in Australia & NZ. I am using either Mozilla or Chrome. What is ie11?

ie11 is internet explorer, the drunk Uncle of the browser family.

Bird was injured in the last training session before the game. Was not publicised.

Is anyone else having issues trying to view the match from the AFL.com smart replay? says i'm outside of Australia and i can't view it

Same, its so damn annoying. I bugged Telstra about it over twitter and after a long effort of proving it wasnt a problem on my end they said they'd look into it. That was two days ago, they have done sweet **** all.

I had the same problem but noticed it would let me load one of the other games.

Dont know if it helped at all but after many attempts i logged out of my gmail account loaded a different game and then switched to the Sydney game and it worked.

Mine randomly started working also - I didnt change anything. It was after I completed a bug report to the afl website though haha

I think the consensus is that he's still a fair way off debut. I believe his tackling/defensive pressure is a key focus, possibly his tank as well. And with a forward line brimming with talented talls, and a long list of pacey smalls/mids that can go forward, he's a fair way down the pecking order and would need to rely on several injuries before he got a look in.

If we go for two rucks I think his chances are even more limited.

He didn't perform very well in the intra-club match so didn't really do himself any favours there either.

Kinda feel for the guy, he's stuck between a rock and a hard place atm.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Membrey looked for opportunities elsewhere at the end of his contract.

With Goodes & LRT nearing the end of their careers, I hope he chooses to stick it out as he could come in handy when LRT/Goodes retire. Hope he's willing to stick it out until 2015 for more opportunity and possibly a regular spot by 2016.

Yes I found out that if you load the Hawks game and then change to our game it works.

Further confirmation of the pro-Hawk bias the AFL has always shown.

I have no doubt he will get his chance this year, my tip is he will play 5-6 games.
