It's going to be corker, Pies v Cats or Hwks. We can we this!
Could alos be Pies vs Blues but we have to get past Essendon 1st

I wouldn't be counting Carlton out against Hawthorn. I expect us to beat Essendon as well, but I would necessarily say it's in the bag.

But Carlton will be a good show against Hawthorn - Hawthorn almost lost to Melbourne the other week, and Carlton always take the pre-season seriously.

Hawthorn dont seem to care too much, judging by the team that looks to be running out today.

Collingwood V Essendon
Carlton/Hawthorn V Geelong

the AFL would be delighted

I bloody hope we dont run into Carlton in the GF, because they seem to be even more serious then us at the moment, and they would be even harder to beat on their "home" ground.

Wouldnt mind facing the cats, always enjoy playing them.

Well said there VV. Carlton come through again!

Geelong v Carlton = Still too close to call... Maybe Carlton by a whisker (no pun intended).

Collingwood vs Essendon = A similar match to Richmond, close 'till Q4 then we kick away by 2-3 goals.

I reckon CFC vs CFC would be a great way to kick off the year :)

I can't see Geelong resting players against Carlton. Cats should win... Essendon should still be bottom 4 in my book so we should kill em.

Yeah, I reckon Cats would destroy Carlton.

They rested Corey, Ablett, Scarlett and Ling for the Port game and still won away. Bring those guys back and add Mooney and it will be all over bar the shouting. Carlton only beat Hawthorn because they couldn't keep from getting injured anyway, and were already missing Franklin/Hodge/Lewis/Ellis etc. etc.

Whilst meeting Carlton in any type of GF is a mouth watering prospect for any Collingwood supporter, I would prefer to play Geelong who we seem to match up with very well.

I would LOVE to beat Carlton in the NAB Cup Grand Final... The thought of that really gets me going.

I while Geelong will bring back rested players, Thompson has said that it means that he can rest some of his other players, so they won't be full strength anyway.

Please please please can we beat Carlton in the NAB cup GF? It is all I want for Christmas.

I assume that you mean that Collingwood can "win this" instead of "we this." Regardless, it is ridiculous to overlook that Collingwood have to win first. Not only did Hawthorn lose to Carlton this morning, but the results of both of next weeks semi's decides which teams play in the NAB Cup Grand Final, and not just the second one. Being firm favourites doesn't guarantee a spot in the Grand Final.

Collingwood have to beat Essendon first, and the last time these two teams played each other was horrible. Of course Collingwood were flat and in a form slump at the time, but nothing is assured in footy of course, and if Essendon decides to take the game more on as they did last time, then they will be better than the horrible performance that was seen against an undermanned Brisbane.

Not to mention that Welsh was on fire for Essendon that day, whereas this time he won't be playing, plus Essendon have looked crap for the last two weeks... They've just been lucky to scrape through against even worse teams.

I don't think it's unfair to say that we should have no problems with Essendon unless we don't turn up to play and they somehow rectify their terrible form.
