I was wondering why you were overwhelming favorites for the spoon this year, but now that your post has enlightened me I need wonder no more.

I was wondering why your overwhelmingly talented squad actually won the spoon last year, but your post has made me realise they were overtalented, and having too much talent just got in the way.

roos 16 g: Harvey, Thomas
blues 19 sg: fevola g: Murphy

early possession getters
Stevens = 9
Gibson =8
Simpson = 8

things still wide open for both teams as they approach half time still a while left though and no team yet to dominate

Half Time Score:

Carlton: 1.3.7 (34)
Kangaroos: 0.6.4 (40)

Shannon Grant kicked a goal in extra time in the 2nd quarter to give the Kangas a 6 point lead!
Extra time? Do you mean time on?

I think it's good how Seven are still showing the game on a 1:45 delay considering it's also on Foxtel, seriously anyone with Free to air should be grateful it's on at all. When it's exclusive to Seven and they delay it for Better Homes and Gardens that's when you should be mad.

Going on pure talent in the squads, Carlton should win this game very, very, very, easily.
LMAO, you're a disgrace. If you can be this arrogant when the Blues have just won back to back spoons I hope your team is nowhere near the finals for many years to come :thumbsdown:

Carlton may have more talent but the Roos should win due to their grit and determination. The Blues haven't played a bad campaign here, their win over Hawthorn was a solid effort and there are some good signs there for future years.

Kangas very ordinary in the first half. O'hAilpin doing a good job on Thompson and Firrito has had the better of Fevola. Think Brendons too busy with throwing his arms out. Laidley needs to get the match ups right. Despite Grants 3 goals in 3 minutes he has him on Thornton who has at least a 14cm height advantage. Josh Gibson playing a good game and Trotter getting involved also, (finally after 2 seasons). Murphy looked ok early as did Stevens but the Roos need to get more out of Harris and Wells. Wells got involved late but not enough.

Trotter was drafted in '03 wasn't he? This'll be his fourth season, he needs to show something.

so at half time it is

Kangaroos 0 6 4 40 goals: grant 3, Thomas, archer,Harvey
Carlton 1 3 7 34 sg: fevola goals: fevola 2, Murphy

leading ball winners
Shannon grant= 3 goals and 12 possessions
Brendan fevola= 1 super goal ,2 normal goals, 1 behind and 5 possessions
jarred Waite= 12 possessions
josh Gibson= 14 possessions
jess Sinclair= 10 kicks and 18 possessions

its a game that hasn't been dominated to much but kangaroos would have the slight edge over Carlton, especially with Shannon grant kicking the last 3 goals.also kangaroos have had a good run off half back/center with players such as Sinclair and Simpson all getting a bit of the ball. their youngsters in Thomas and Gibson are doing very well

as for Carlton, they haven't done bad so far but they are simply lacking another forward target besides fevola. fevola has scored 22 out of there 34 points which is 64% of there whole score. number one draft pick Bryce Gibbs has again not really done much just racking up the three possessions. however with the help of waite fevola and a few others Carlton are in with a chance, but they need to not always look for fevola inside 50.

so kangaroos with the slightest of edges over Carlton but still is anybody game as the second half is just underway

Carlton are getting absolutely murdered by the umpires. Hope the roos run out of payments by the end of the game.

You should be lining up for Carlton.

Biggest pack of whingers and sooks I've ever seen on a football field.

They should enter a team in the A league.

update
10 mins in

roos 64
blues 35
archer kicked the last 2
roos with 4 quick goals in the 3rd
the kangaroos have actually got more than 1 player to go for inside 50 unlike carlton

Of course, because the "super-talented" Blues are getting demolished it can only be the umpires' fault. Soon you'll be saying "Bah, we don't care about the NAB Cup anyway, we have enough members".

You were beaten fair and square, because the Roos are a better side. Simple.

I'm wondering what bank north robbed actually, because they must have paid the white maggots an utter fortune to get the decisions they have so far.

Maybe some gold coast person has paid them off in an effort to lure north to their future home. A sly method indeed. Paying the umpires in order to convince poor old north they play better in QLD. Very, very, tricky! :eek:

i dont understand why everyone is blaming the umpiring instead why dont they not care. its preseason, as long as your players get a run and dont get injured. its a successful game.
