Of course, but TW doesn't treat the NAB cup as a serious contest (because it isn't). He uses it to try out some of the younger kids. We usually lose out in the NAB because of this and then everyone starts tearing shreds through the team again. So yes, I'm looking forward to the NAB, but no I'm not looking forward to the predictable lynchings after the first game.
 
When it comes around it just fuels my anticipation for the regular season and I cant wait for it to be over.

Players dont even look as though they want to celebrate it afterwards.

But so keen to see how the Tigers start will we be by that time that it will be like a godsend.

Im just not getting into the cricket at the moment. Bring on the new footy Season FFS.

We're playing at Subiaco. After this year, we can't lose! :p I'm thinking of heading over for it - need to pay long overdue visits to the Little Creatures brewery and the old man...

I dunno why I'm bumping this thread to ask this, seeing as your guess is as good as mine, but the current threads are falling short of my high expectations.

I hope we go out in the NAB cup with a very quick, young side. I would also like to see Post, Vickory and Browne in there i think Browne will be a very good rickman has a big body and is very tall. I like the look of Hislop aswell and would like to see him get a game in the NAB cup. Personally i would leave Richo, Brown, Cousins, Bowden and maybe even Deledio so we can give White a game insted of Lids, Post insted of Richo as a Key forward, Brown with Hislop, Just to give a few of the younger players a go and save the old guns till Round 1.

I doubt Cuz will play for the first week or 2.

Looking forward to Thomson, Hislop, Gilligan (longshot) and Rance getting a gig.

I like Thomson lots and he will not be giving Cuz any free rides into the team.

they wont give the eagles 3 straight games in perth if they happen to win will they.

I'd like to see the Tige's go all out to win the NAB cup this year. There's usually 1 or 2 teams that actually try, this one should be yours. Would give amazing confidence to the players to actually win something (as in a final of sorts) as well as drag more members in for the 2009 season.

freo in the first round, they have a sh*tful year to atone for, i'd imagine they'll throw everything into winning, probably more than the tiges.

just let st kilda and carlton fight it out again

I'd like Cogs and Cuz to both play. They could both use a recent game (or three ) at 75-80% pace to prepare for the season, which is what the NAB Cup is ( as opposed to 50% pace for other pre-season matches )

richmond should give it a crack at winning it just hope that no major injuries come out of it.
 
Every year we say we should rest Richo and every year he refuses to sit out... :cool: He'll play.

It would be good for Cousins to get used to his new teammates, but I would only play him if we play most of the regulars. It's no point getting him used to his new teammates when half of them are kids who won't get a game in the real season.

Coughlan will play - absolute certainty.

Surely if Cousins wants to get match fitness then he has to play in most if not all of our preseason games.

Why then if we lose we have to play at venues in country areas or grounds that are not overly watered much and there for are hard. I would rather we play at the grounds used for afl footy. Also winning is what footy is about not losing. If we do well in the preseason games that turns into money and membership.
