I wouldnt think Port are in for a full rebuild. Flick off Hinkley, get new coaching staff and address a few list needs and we'll be fine.
Seem to be in a bit of no man's land with this list. Not quite good enough to genuinely compete, but coming close enough to not rebuild. They feel a little like North in the Scott era.
Add to that there might be a couple of handy ones out the door they might not have much choice but to rebuild.
Lose butters and Bergman and it’s rebuild time for sure

You guys got gaps on all line except the midfield because of JHF and Butters but if Butters leave at least one of the 2 first rounder will be a good pick to start the rebuild. It will be hilarious if that pick end up worst than the pick you gave for Lukosius though.
Mail going around that both Nas and Pou have re-signed, which would be pretty epic if true, considering they’re both from SA and the clubs there would be going hard for them.

Saints would be stupid to trade away NWM.
Again... If I had betting money, NWM will sign a 4 year deal. That means at worst saints have 4 years of NWM and he is a free agent.

If the 'bad' mail from your perspective is right, no doubt it will net you a couple of 1st rounders in any trade scenario
I'd reckon, maybe 2 first rounders and we send back a 3rd or something. Still, would rather have Nas who is hitting his straps as a massive offensive weapon and has learnt to be more accountable defensively then a couple of prospects.
Heard from two different sources in the last 24 hours that he’s signed. Not that he’s going to, but that it’s done.
That sort of news is not going to not get out, if its happened.
I would have been very surprised if he left even before hearing these though. He clearly loves it and has close mates there, including the 2nd-most indigenous players of any club.
Time will tell though.

Your first rounder this year if it remains that you finish top 4. Will blow out into the 20s.
That’s junk level of first round picks and they won’t get anything done.

Look, he is OOC and sure, if that was the offer, St Kilda certainly could refuse it even if he says he wants to go to the crows. Then what, does he go to the PSD where there will be 7 or 8 clubs with picks before St Kilda's that they could redraft him with? Or maybe he goes to the main draft, puts a huge price on his head and the crows take him with their 1st? Is it worth potentially getting nothing for him if he decided he didn't want to be there anymore when likely a couple of 1st rounders are on the table?. And for the record, this above is just a possible scenario as he may well sign on at St Kilda and its all moot.

You aren’t the only club with cap room and he would appeal to everyone from Richmond north eagles bombers and yes port could probably make it work too. The top end of the draft likely has multiple of these clubs having picks in the top 15 before you likely get your first.
There isn’t the threat of a normal free agency situation.
His agent is also Ben Williams. Yes the situation is also slightly different in that he is out of contract. But look what he organised for North losing JHF.
Quite frankly I could see us asking for a curtain/draper and a first.

Look, all i am saying is, and its the same every year, if a player wants to leave as soon as they nominate a club, the club losing the player is somewhat over a barrel. Houston just last year a case in point. Port supporters all as one ' we won't be trading him for unders' 2 firsts was the starting point, then he nominated Collingwood and that was that and they took undersbin the end. Now again, its very possible and likely probable he will sign on with the saints but if not and he were to request a trade to Adelaide, 2 firsts is going to be where it would most like sit. Draper and Curtin and a 1st are the sort of stuff of fanciful dreams.

Port also had their hands full with GC trying to acquire a player.
We also have SOS as a list boss and he doesn’t settle for what’s on offer.
Which is why I am very confident that you won’t get the player on 1000% your terms.
Ultimately I think he re-signs. I’ve been confident of that since pre round 1. Nothing has changed my mind.
I think he stays signs on until free agency no ITK knowledge or anything just a gut feeling.
Loves the club and we love him.
Also it’s the type of loss that would rip the soul out of the supporter base don’t think we have been this emotionally invested in a player in a long time.

The Crows won't have Paul Connors coming in and threatening to have his players never work with St Kilda if the Saints don't get the deal done.

If he chooses the crows Adelaide will need to get creative the position of there first rounders in the teens won’t get it done. They will need to involve another club his value is going up each week will need at a minimum a good top ten pick and extras

maybe so. although this year there might be some clubs ok to offload a top 10 pick for points due to academy players, so maybe some wheeling and dealing with our 1st, a traded player or 2 to get the extra 2nd rounders and maybe wen give a good points haul for a top 10 pick and then a f1 with maybe a f2 or f3 coming back? lots of ways to massage a trade I suppose
