the news just gets better

wallace was saying on friday its a 20 day injury and browns already been off it for 10, that was FRIDAY, he really should only miss round 2 and maybe round 3 on that prognosis. Bloody liars our club is, show us a little more respect

Well, i work in medicine and some of the surgeons at work ,the orthopods.. were discussing it yesterday, and basically.. the injury, now the hot spot.. he is pretty much finished.. it will develop into a stress fracture and really, if he misses this year again.. forget him.. we should really just cut our losses now..

he is out of contract this year i think

get set for the typical richmond 5 year/5 million dollar deal which should be announced in the next few weeks

nah but seriously i love browny but if the club had ANY idea they would give him a 1 year performanced based contract and tell him to take it or leave it, similar to cogs

no passengers!

if they sign him up for any longer than 1 year, then Richmond truly are the dumbest club ever.

Imho, trade him for whatever you can get...

Haha, even if worst case scenario he misses all of this season, he will come back fit and well and he will still have another 3 seasons of magic in him. Thats what im thinking.

As much as champion players deserve a little lee-way, if he missed this season, he will have effectively missed 30 months of competitive football. Game over... doesnt matter how old they are.

I'd be devastated.

SEN Caller Rumour (22/03/07)
Anyone confirm this?

SEN Caller to KB today at 11.40pm, asking if anyone knows if Nathan Brown has a stress fracture in his leg. Caller said he heard from a source.

KB said Greg Miller yesterday said that Browny just has 'leg soreness'.

Anyone know the facts?
Cheers

Some of you guys need to realise that most football rumours have a grain
of truth about them.

You know, deep down after leaving the dome that fateful night (I was 30mts from the incident), I had a real feeling we'd seen the end of browny there and then. God damn it. Just when our fans had something to really cheer about and potentially even a brownlow medallist, down the toilet it goes. Our club is cursed i swear.

Righto then davewarr, I hope Hahn, Darcy and Murphy all come down with crippling injuries that end their careers!

i think it should only be Richmond supporters (people who ticked that on their profile) allowed on this board :thumbsu:

Western Bulldogs star out for ten weeks
03Apr07

Western Bulldogs veteran Chris Grant will miss up to 10 weeks following surgery last night to remove spurs from his pubic bone.

The Bulldogs said the problem, which was discovered last week, had interfered with his ability to train properly.

It is understood to have developed from an old osteitis pubis problem the star forward had suffered from for the past few years.

Grant is expected to resume playing in the last half of the AFL season.

The club's medical staff initially thought the condition would gradually improve but club surgeon David Young decided surgery would ensure a long-term solution.

Bad luck for Grant though, Doggies version of Cogs/Browny

Back to the topic guys, sorry on behalf of that rookie but, realistically does any1 know how long he will be out for..

After he kicked that 4 in the praccy game i thought he was back but the news recently hasnt been good. Wallet says another week but is this realistic or are we looking at alot longer?

Going to the tigers v doggies game in a couple of weeks with some tigers boys and would love to see him out there again playing well...but not too well if you know what i mean.

i hope he comes back to his former glory, he was one of my favourite players and was the best in the comp IMO before the accident.

I wouldn't be surpised he has an actual hairline fracture in that leg that they are trying to cover up because it could hurt their membership sales.

I wonder if we will map-out a program for him to use him sparingly.

Carlton - try to get him right for round 1.
Swans - skip the physical Swannies
Pies - get him in for the winnable game
Dogs - don't risk him against the hardest running team in the comp
WCE - rest him in the unwinnable game
Cats - put him back in after a weeks rest to beat the Cats
Port and Adelaide - skip the away trips
Essendon and Lions - put him back in for the winnable home games
Freo - skip the trip to the hard surface at Subi

Then play him in the last 11.

That might give him a light enough schedule to nurse him through the first half of the season - but also give us maximum return on his ability.
