I had him in my dream team for my back half. Then i heard he got dropped. Is he likely to come back netime soon or shuld i make a trade for sum1 else? I feel he does rack enuff of it up for me to keep him in if he gets a game.

Thanks

I'm not sure, it wasnt a suprise he got dropped and his replacement Ward isnt travelling too badly so he may be out for a while.

Can you please try and explain to me why - when what the Demons need at this very moment is leadership, courage and mental toughness - they drop Nathan Brown? Here's a guy who's preparation for a game is legendary amongst his team mates, has finished 4th, runner up and ninth in their best and fairest in the last three years respectively, he's had a huge pre season and gets 17 possessions in Round 1. Its a kick in the guts for a player who's put his head where angels fear to tread for the team from day 1 one of his career. Make no mistake, Browny's team mates will be gutted for him being a made a scapegoat for others sustained mediocrity. I was just about to renew my membership with the Dee's but they can stick it up their crack. Somebody needs to sit the Reverend down and explain to him what the word "respect" for a club leader and role model means. Unforgiveable Neal, unforgiveable.

I understand your points, but over the last year or so, he has become quite unaccountable and the run he gives off half-back has diminished a bit while his kicking skills while always good have also started to deteorate.

Browny is a good contributor and im sure it wont be long till hes back in the 22, but the spell in the reserves will make him fresher and more eager to return.

How good would it be if that was Brown logging on and losing the plot? I'd flip for that angle.

He he. Na its not Browny sticking up for himself, I just thought I needed to because he's done a lot of selfless things for the coach and team is a gut busting runner to go with it. His team mates love the bloke and admire him probably more than any other (big statement I know but talk to them and you'll find out), ie- backing into Clive Waterhouses leading path from full forward when playing the Dockers in 2001 and missing last 7 weeks and finals from bruising on the brain. Next eg, picking his own teeth out of the inside of his cheek and getting stitches in his tounge after being crunched by Buckley when playing Collingwood in 2004 I think. Danners asked him to lead the boys out after half time to test him out and the team and they got up. He's a bloody ripper! Could give you few more eg's if needed.

Great servent to the club, no doubt a great bloke who works harder than everyone else, gets the most out of himself and so on.

Bottom line is Brown is by no means a great player and he's been in poor form. The guy runs hard, sure, but doesn't have much accountability on his man and we have plenty of HBF's available.

Will get back into the team, possibly this week. Having said that I won't lose any sleep if he spends a few more weeks at Sandy.

Yes fair enough on most points. What the Dee's need at the moment though is blokes who you know you can go into the trenches with. The kids stand an inch taller and have more confidence, the established players know they are playing next to someone that they can rely on to have a crack even if they are 10 goals down. Everyone benefits. On top of that, he can play. Should have been an AA in 2004.

I think at the moment I'd rather inject the team with some players who will go out there and play with heart. We're probably going to lose anyway so let's at least get people in who will have a crack.

In short - I want Demonblog's own Philthy Phil back in NOW.

I wouldnt mind seeing Godders back playing alongside Read to be honest.

Bit of G&D, to use a Danners choice phrase.

Christ, what's next, bringing back Luke Williams?

Sure we want some heart and some courage, but we also want players who can dispose of the ball and don't give away stupid free kicks. Godders is great, except he can't actually kick and Read is a hot-head.

You want heart, courage, determination and skill? Play the f'ing kids! Play Bate, Jones, Bartram.... they will go hard, they will be hungry for the pill and they will give you everything they have. Plus, there is that added bonus of them actually being decent players in the near future.

If Daniher wasn't such a moron, he'd make the 'hard' decision of dropping the likes of Yze in favour of some kids who are busting their balls to play senior footy.

Allstar, if you watch the first 2 games closely, you'll see we are getting pasted in the clearances due to our midfielders all waiting for someone else to get the ball out to them.

Read and Godfrey will do this job and will close down opponents alot better than the likes of Green, Moloney, McLean will.

Please... Godfrey will get the ball and kick it to an Adelaide player. Read might get a clearance, but will no doubt belt someone over the head in the process.

We won the clearances last week, what killed us was the way we used the ball. Bring in Read and Godders, and it will only get worse. They should be depth, to be used only in case of emergency.
Bring in Jones and Bate, and then we might get somewhere.

You have remembered incorrectly. Godfrey was dropped the following week but ended up being a late replacement for Cameron Bruce.
