Whats going on?

If you're asking why he isn't in the team skywalk I am not too sure. He'll be in next week I'd say with Whelan and Brock gone for a while by the looks. It amazes me how many Melbourne supporters on this site don't rate him yet supporters from opposition teams can't believe he isn't in the best 22. At least he has the guts to put his ass on the line for the team and take the opposition on from the backline with his run. Every game he gives us something, more than can be said for some of the squibs pulling on the red and blue last night.

No offense but with players like Yze and Green who try to hide when the going gets tough I cant believe Brown isnt even on the bench..

Green is no longer soft. Yze is.
Brown's problem is he is like Ward (Turnover king last night) and makes poor decisions with the ball. His strength is his run but he can be unaccountable as a small defender and has poor peripheral vision.
I think Bizzell should come in instead of Brown for Whelan to be honest.

I can't see anything wrong with bringing Doggy in after last nights effort. He hasn't got great disposal, but by got our guys could use him as an example for someone willing to put his body on the line. Last night we were the softest we've been for a long time.

Flip of the coin between Brown and Ward for me. Brown is perhaps a bit more defensively disciplined. Did anyone else think we missed having Biz on Friday playing the loose man role while Rivers is out injured?

I thought the same thing. We already had Bell, Whelan and Bartram for the small-medium forwards, so why not play the Biz in front of Gehrig all night?
Poor selection and a poor gameplan. Hopefully we'll see a turnaround this week.

Bartram should never have played. He was way out of match fitness.

but wasnt his great tackle in the defensive goal square worth it?
i didnt think he was too bad.. much worse players on the night.
he was much better then ben holland, i cant believe they out him in the side instead of ryan ferguson.

Great return today. Very serviceable. Easily in your Top5 today. I cannot believe people would want to see "50 metre penalty" Wheatley in instead of this fella. A true 'head over the ball' player that many others in the side could take a lead from.

Brown can be summed up by one passage of play I saw. Got the hard ball on defensive 50, broke the line and took off through the middle. Kicked the ball directly to a Hawthorn player who hit a free opponent which resulted in a goal.

At least he tried his guts out, sure, but if trying was all that mattered we'd have 22 Godfrey's in the team.
