Can Freeman get back to 100% speed?
That was his strength.
Im starting to think we got dudded. Cant see him being an afl player. 3 years now with hammy issues. Surely thats too long now.

This is the equivalent of putting the kettle on and twenty seconds later saying "well it's never going to boil."

In the aftermath of his drafting the Pies board was comparing him to Dangerfield. I watched some of his VFL/practice match games and there was nothing I saw that caused me to believe we had the next Danger, although when you watched Danger in his first couple of years there was not too much that would cause you to believe he would become Danger. For me he didn't seem to get enough of the footy in the games I saw, and I think that was one of the question marks over him at junior level. Given the 300 touches he had in a half earlier this year, maybe he has fixed that!

I guess there are now two question marks over him. Does he recover fully, and does he then become the explosive star we hoped he would be. Pretty significant questions marks, which makes the price you paid for him probably a bit steep. But as many Saints fans have said, it is a reasonable gamble on the club's behalf. He recovers, gets better at finding the ball, and it looks bargain. He doesn't and you missed out on using a pick that will be late 20s in this year's draft, which could be a famine or a feast - Malcolm Karpany or Zach Merrett.

With things about to take place in Rio; and in memory of events some 16 years ago....

Take a look at historic mid-second rounders, and they are hit or miss at the best of time. Freeman is no more hit or miss than any of them.

For example Collingwood traded a perfectly good pick for Andrew Krakouer and John Celgar. A good thing to do at the time. But Celgar was useless and Krakouer crumbled in finals. Plenty of fine players still playing that could have been had with the pick that was given up. ( Seriously did Luke Parker not shower before he went to the team interviews, to make everyone pass him up ) ?

The thing is , we don't really need another player to battle for a spot against Nathan Wright and Darren Minchington. We all know the potential upside of Freeman and that's what we've gone in to bat for.

It'll be a late 30s pick in the draft. The number of academy picks this year means a real push down on the selection. The phantom drafts are suggesting around 7 academy kids in the top 30.

All the clubs that don't have access to academy players should get together and bid on them top 10 , just because.

I remember a ruckman from west coast that turned out to be the best we had for years. The duds name was Michael Gardiner and he was a cracker to watch.

Not on injury list
He's feeling pretty relaxed these days and has now taken up golf.

Even got his own customised bag in club colours

Missed it, what happened?

Gillo94 said some stupid things, people made fun of him for saying stupid things, he got defensive and said even stupider things, and then all the monkeys started flinging shit everywhere and Armitage2Riewoldt had to come in and clean the place up.
