Given Reid's injuries looking back we should've picked Jack Riewoldt too [emoji12] every year unfortunately there will be one that got away and every single club would be in the same boat. Imagine if he Hawks had pulled the trigger on a guy named Scott Memblebury instead of an injury prone Xavier Ellis.

I think that's a fair point, but the frustration for all of us is we picked up Scharenberg and Freeman in the same draft and neither have played a senior game, and don't look likely this year based on present form and fitness.

It really sucks if you mess up a top 10 pick at anytime, but when you have 2 picks and neither play a game in nearly 2 years you can kinda understand the huge amount of angst with both the boys.

Whatever way you look at it, no matter what's to blame, Freeman and Scharenberg could have nothing but 'disappointing' on their 2nd year report cards thus far.

Not at all. They would have "injured" and "recovering from injury" on their report card.
Disappointing would be they have played and failed to produce.
Bit harsh to say a player has been disappointing when they have not had a chance to play.
The injuries have been disappointing not the players

No doubt the injuries are disappointing... but you'd still wish we drafted different players in hindsight.

Freeman, at least.

They have still disappointed, just that there is still the chance if they become fit that they will become players.

I really hope freeman gets fit, I like the kid And think he can add a lot to the team, bit far to say his been disappointing but the situation has definitely been disappointing.

Yes but also in another 2 or 3 years we may in hindsight be saying thank god we got them, despite the disappointing start they are guns.
I will wait till I see how they perform. They're injuries are not going to last forever. Sooner or later they will be on the park and we can then assess them then. They may become the Pendlebury and Swan of their era. Who knows.

Fantasising of a hypothetical hindsight in 2 or 3 years, doesn't change the present disappointment...

It helps to cope :D
But my point was the guys have not been disappointing. It is not something which is not in their control. It is the situation which is disappointing

That because of Injuries

delist.. sick of these sick-note bludgers. Reid, Greenwood and Sinclair too

Menzel at Geelong has had 4 knee reco's.
Hogan at Melbourne drafted in 2012 and debuted this year.
Morabito at Freo - can't keep track, but you get the drift.

We would be idiots to delist them, Reid is one of our most important players, and I have no doubt he will be back just have patience. It's frustrating but these things happen, watch him kill it next year!
