Ummm if their is one thing i can tell you it is that Hine has a stack of runs on the board and with schaz almost about to sign losing Freeman wouldn't make the club look at Hine. He is one of the best recruiters in the AFL.

Hine is fine.
Freeman will stay, if its anout length if contract then persobally id give him two years happily extea even three years (assuming mild contract) because that way we give him security and we get, if fit, speed, speed and more speed

I think Pies are going to sacrifice Witts in the Treloar trade. We have Grundy developing nicely Cox will make his senior debut next year and Moore will also develop quickly as a forward/ruck option. All that aside I still don't think Kruzer is worth spending 600k a season on either to much risk with all his foot and knee problems

See myself, i would much prefer to just have witts, grundy and cox. then spend the dollars on a veteran defender like carlisle.

If he wants to go and chase the $$$$ let him go. From us to St Kilda- enjoy the career suicide kid.
It's quite laughable that he is potentially going from one Victorian team to another for $$$$.
It would be more plausible if he was moving interstate or had a go home factor etc.

It's fine, relax. His manager is just trying to get his player some more cash, that's his job.

It's a stock standard manager ploy to add pressure to the club with a few veiled threads said out loud.

Just as Treloar's agent lured Richmond and North in to force us to pay more for his client. All player managers do it, it happens every year, with every club. I'm confident Freeman isn't going anywhere.

That story didn't even say the saints were interested, it said they might be interested.

Smells of a manager trying to bump up his clients contract.

He's been injured with a hamstring for 2yrs. No club is going to offer much more than the base contract
Seems to me a case of ppl putting far too much weight on him being pick 5. Shouldn't even come into calculations. Based on what he has shown and his London fog injury cloud, he can't be worth much at this stage.

Calm down, I'm not blaming you.
Ta,
I was only saying it in tranquil tones, just vieweing the changing times due to the rise of internet etc
All good

What is it with those kids we drafted that year! Shouldn't be hard to sign players who have done nothing and are lucky to be in the system
It is hard if other clubs see the same qualities as we do and are willing to pay overs. No doubt that their demands are fuelled by offers from the competition.

Yeah I ve learnt my lesson - if I dont' want to know a result have to avoid *all* footy sites.
PS easy to misinterpret posts when there's no non-verbals.

This be true
Though i prefer to not upset any one unintentionally

But what do u give up for Carlisle?

Considering Treloar and possibly Aish moving across...

Well of course sacrifices have to be made, but i truly don't understand why we need Aish. We have many promising young midfielders. I wasn't keen for Treloar at first, but i'm coming around. However, after enduring this season, i honestly feel we need something more confident or veteran down in defence, not saying Carlisle is that man, but we need something. Honestly Brown, Reid aren't exactly leaders. And toovey not so much either.

But i suppose if we see more of pendles in defence it won't be so bad.

Carlisle is the exact opposite of a leader. I agree he's a good player but if you're looking for leadership he's the absolute opposite, if anything he'd be a liability without a strong leader down there...

Well like I said, i don't really know carlisle but the information is good to know. Then perhaps someone else. Because honestly when i rewatch some games this year, i feel like we need Maxwell back telling the men how to line up.. Honestly.. Maxwell is the man we need, is there any comparable maxwells available :D

Nathan Brown does an okay job at leading our backline but I agree we need at least someone equally as good along with him, if not someone outstanding like Maxwell. People say Marsh is the next backline messiah but he's still young, but then so is a lot of our team so I'd say just continue to develop from within. If we want to play Reid up forward I wouldn't mind seeing us chase Carlisle but I'm fine with just looking at Treloar & possibly Aish.

I think we should all tweet at him about how we think he should be loyal to our club because he's injury prone and because we gave him a chance etc. etc.

I'm sure he'd enjoy that and no doubt it will go a long way to him deciding to stay.

Or we could do it the Turkish way and threaten bodily harm if he leaves.
Make him an offer he cant refuse type thing

Or tweet him that we hope he stays and becomes part of this clubs next flag team with subtle reminder that Saint Blunder is closing in on 50 years without one.

I reckon Reidy could become a really solid leader of the defense, especially if coaches set him the task. Good reason to leave him in defense next year until someone else steps up to the role. I also think Williams will take a more leadership role next year, I think the defense will greatly improve next year.
