Are you guy's really believing a bears poster with a name called leppa messiah lol ha #fishy #trolly
A certain Scodog has weighed into. Take away the NRL stuff and we still have the situation of a draft player injured in the past 2 yrs , asking overs and reported to talk to other clubs.
At least The Berg showed promise, less enthusiasm for Gordon

Gave you a like for the half life reference. I've been itching to call out 'The Free Man' at a game for two years now :(

I'm not sure I believe a word from that Brissie nuffie in this thread but let's just say he does intend to go to StKilda.

What would the Saints be offering? Obviously not their first pick so I'm assuming their second which is in the early 20's?
This. Collingwood his least favourite club at the time of drafting...possibly. Apparently still is........come on......what a load of shit. All that was needed to be added was he hates Bucks etc blah, blah.

I heard he doesn't get on with the water boys either.:drunk:

Grain of salt stuff from a Brisbane poster who claims a kid who was in to Aussie Rules enough to pursue a career as an AFL player was a bigger NRL fan.

Yeah agreed.

My statement is based on the unlikely presumption he isn't just spouting total shite.

On the track yep. Off the track not so much.

I think you'll find he takes his fitness pretty seriously no matter where he is, you don't find to many 19 year old's conditioned like he is.

Just interested how much you saw of each of them in their juniors? Cripps was considered a bit of a reach at the time of the draft.

I thought my post indicated I didn't see them at junior level.

But like I said, I find it hard to believe that Freeman looked noticeably better given the way Cripps has dominated at senior level. We're talking about mids here, not talls.

Not that Hine was the only one to stuff that one up. Quite a few other clubs obviously skipped on Cripps too.

Recruiting is not an exact science and never will be. These guys are picked at 18. Nostradamus could not predict the development rate of 18 year olds.

Plus, if someone has never had a major injury before, how do you know that they are going to have one in the future.

If Freeman had not done his hammy the first time everything could have been different.

Freeman was noticeably better. Much like Pendlebury, Cripps was regarded as a reach at 13. Sometimes one recruiter just sees something in a player that others miss. Of course, there's the distinct possibility that Rogers just got lucky on Cripps too. It happens.

This is what concerns me sometimes.

I find it hard to believe that Freeman looked noticeably better than Cripps at JUNIOR level given how badly Cripps is dominating SENIOR level. You have to wonder how an experienced recruiter can get that so wrong. I mean, two years later and you can clearly see Cripps should have gone Top 3 in that draft.

This looks worse than than Hawthorn and Carlton not taking Pendlebury in 2005.

At the time you wanted Lennon...no mention of Cripps.

Know nothing about him.

Was hoping we'd take Lennon. I'll trust Hine and Bucks.

Great bloke, went to school with him, still remember the look on his face when he knew collingwood were grabbing him; by far his least favourite club and apparently still is. Will be playing for St Kilda next year take it to the bank.
So the night of when he was on camera getting texts from all our players, his excitement was completely fake?

You have never met him in your life.

I reckon the club know his hammies are gone, so are willing to let him go for more coin and to snare some draft picks (which we can on trade). I'm happy to back the club on this.

Obviously it would also be in Freeman's best interests to leave (for more coin), if he possibly won't be on our list much longer anyway if he can't get fit.

Not too stressed one way or another. A lot of questions marks over Freeman, and not just his hammies.
If he's going to leave, this trade period would suit us.

What did Balme actually say?

http://www.sen.com.au/news/09-15/freeman-must-repay-the-faith-neil-balme

"We're very, very keen for Freo (Freeman) to play and I'm sure he is, he hasn't played at all," Balme told SEN's Kevin Bartlett.

"He's a top ten draft pick but did his hammy and hasn't played a senior game in two years.

"One would expect he would have a responsibility to repay the support, but he may or may not we hope he does."

Balme said his character can't be questioned either.

"He's a good kid, it is tough on these blokes and people do have a choice in what they do with their lives.

"He's been contracted for two years, he's out of contract and he's entitled to do what he likes," Balme said.
