If Scharenberg is now over his injury issues and Freeman is soon, there is no reason to believe they won't reach the same level they would've had they not gotten injuries. The silver lining is we've gotten to see more of guys like Langdon and Broomhead who may not have gotten much of a look in had it not been for the injuries. The end result may be a stronger core.

The question with Freeman is going to be 'will the burst of speed return?'

Isn't he top 2 at the club for endurance already? Behind only Sidey?
Endurance =/ burst of speed. See: Sidebottom.

Point being, his burst of speed isn't necessarily the question at all given his endurance.
That may be the case but it sounds as though getting his burst back was the concern for Freeman...

"Nathan has been having a bit of trouble with his hamstring which kept him out last year and he hasn't been quite able to get up to full speed regularly," Magpies director of football Neil Balme told the club website.

Can confirm that as of last Saturday he was not only alive but walking at a reasonable pace at Vic Park.
That would limit him to about 10 touches or less. 30+ if you're Scott Pendlebury.

I asked him when he will be back playing at Vic Park on Saturday.......He said two weeks :thumbsu:

Boy oh boy so he probably won't debut in the seniors in 2015.
TG he is clearly a work in progress. The injuries have been really unfortunate but they are what they are. Back playing some footy is all we need for now. Dont stress if its not seniors in 2015, that will make little difference in the long run.

Is it normal to spend this much time out after having exploratory surgery?
I'm pretty sure they cleaned out some scar tissue that had attached itself to the hamstring, so was a little more to it than just exploratory.

Gone Critical is probably the best person to ask about surgery recovery time.

Spoke to him in the lift at the G on queens birthday. Was a really nice guy and open for a chat
Said at that stage he expected to be back shortly after the bye but had no expectations of playing AFL at all this year and guys like Scharenberg were in the same boat and this would simply be a development year
