Hasn't signed yet. Yet to play a game in two years of football. Wonder if he'll want out of something he could think he a rookie organisation.

I am expecting him to just get the Same Money as he was getting but the Length I don’t know.

He might of Re-Signed and not been Announced

I reckon he will always be second guessing his running pace, I'm not sure if he keeps doing it at full speed but it's a strange recurring injury for a young man to have, much like Reid's calves. Generally happens to players at the other end of their career like Bucks.

When the 1st one happens the 2nd one is far more likely to happen. When the 2nd one happens the 3rd tear again becomes more likely.

it becomes a cycle until the player is so injury riddled they struggle to get onto the park at all. This is why reoccurring soft tissue injuries are extremely concerning. Anyone who thinks this isn't a very serious issue for his career simply has their head in the sand.

I think any chance of him becoming a star has gone out the window, and we hope he gets onto the park in 2016 and has a good career.

By the end of this year, he will have been on the list for 44 AFL games and he will have missed maybe 40 of them through an injury to his hamstring - an injury that usually only takes 4 weeks to heal.

Do you think that this isn't career threatening?
Can't bring myself to 'like' this post, so: agreed. :(

I don't know if it's the same tear in the same place or even the same leg but doing repeated hanmies would rob him of his pace which is supposedly his biggest asset so I guess your right, the best we can hope for is a solid career, the worst he battles this forever.

It's the same injury from 2014.

He did the original "worst hamstring tear ever seen" early February, but at that stage was only expected to miss 4-6 weeks. 4-6 months later his hamstring has made very little progress and the club decides to change his running style then try get him right for 2015. Come early 2015 he gets onto the field and notices his Hamstring has still not healed. He plays a few VFL games, where he is clearly unable to accelerate, then requires more surgery, this was suppose to keep him out for a 1-2 months. A few months later he is nearly there and now has yet another set back, ruling him out to 2016.

It's truly unbelievable how this has happened. Why us? Why did this have to happen to a top 10 pick?

I remember when hammies were all 4-6 weeks no matter what, unless you tore it off the bone.

It is wretchedly bad luck and a tragedy if it keeps him from realising his potential in the AFL, sounds like such an exciting prospect too.

Fingers crossed for 2016 I guess and hopefully the kid can catch a break.

He is 20 years old ... Has had a couple of hammys, therefore you conclude it is ''career threatening'' and he might not make it???

Or maybe you are just impatient/pissed off our pick 10 two years ago hasn't played a game yet when other players in that draft have already played a handful

If you don't have concerns over this being a Ben Reid Situation then you're an idiot. Doesn't mean he won't fix it in time but its definitely cause for major concern.

Seems like some people are more concerned about Freeman's hamstring than their own lives.
We can only wait and see what develops.
Making stupid posts won't change his fate.

Worst thing for me is we could have had Cripps at 10 in that draft ie the kid who controlled us in the middle for a significant part of Saturday, getting 35 possessions and must be in the frame for rising star.

Could have. And could have ended up with him on the sidelines due to injury. People who watched Marsh last weekend where wondering where we did get him from. You take some, you lose some. Be patient with the kid, he will be alright.

So has anyone actually confirmed this or are we just relying on some Twitter knob?

I'm sure the young fella is feeling pretty despondent about his hamstring issues without the weight of all of us on his shoulders.

You're right. I guess we've all had a pretty testing year with injuries to players and in particular, young untested players that the club had invested so much in. But yes, let's hope that Nathan turns the corner next year and really shows us what he can do. Would be a tragedy if he never actually plays a game.

maybe our medicos should talk to the Hawthorn doctors about Cyril's chronic hamstring history. They might learn something

Maybe you should watch the Blackmores injury update video brought to you by Blackmores.

Also, don't think mattys123 would appreciate being called 'some Twitter knob'
