now off his rookie contract it would be more than that the league would have a minim pay a bit more than that I would guessNot sure what sort of contract Id give him. Maybe one year tops? 60k?

Him not playing could work out as a little bonus for us short term in that we would have budgeted for an increase in his next contract, whereas you wouldn't think that he would be asking much more after the start to the career he has had.Waiting to see if Scharenberg leaves any money for him![]()
Rookie list
Rookie List!
No it doesn't. He's on our rookie list! And if he's got any loyalty or decency after spending his first 2 years at the club clocking up medical expenses he might stick around and play some footy to repay us at some stage. IF he gets on the park and can play consistently well enough.. he can be the priority to be upgraded at some stage during the year. Otherwise... bye bye thanks for nothing. Why?
Its just gives other clubs a chance to get him for free.
Whose fault is it then? In the scheme of performance based contracts etc, having a body that is capable of playing and withstanding AFL footy is number 1 on the list of player requirements. If we tried to Rookie him, I'd complete understand him going elsewhere to get a senior spot. Not his fault he's been injured.
Huh?! Freeman is certainly not on the Rookie List.No it doesn't. He's on our rookie list! yeah okAll of you mob bagging the kid are idiots.
He was at the VFL game today sitting behind me next to DeGoey, Pendles, Reid, Maynard, Goodyear and Bucks.
It's not his fault he has been injured.
The club won't be trading him or putting him on rookie list you muppets.
No way Freeman would be delisted.
There is a reason he went at pick 10 two years back so we just have to be patient and support him.
Not his fault his hamstring got ripped off the bone.
Get him healthy and the upside is huge.
we're doing exactly that with Keefe and thomasHuh?! Freeman is certainly not on the Rookie List.
You don't just move a player from the Primary List to the Rookie List, they have to be delisted first, then you pick them up again (if you can). Someone else would take a punt on him and we'd lose a potential star for nothing.
We've indicated we'll take those players in the Rookie Draft IF they're available. They don't go straight from the main list to the Rookie List. e.g. North Melbourne wanted to put Cameron Delaney on their R/L at the end of last year after delisting him from the main list, but Geelong got in before them and snapped him up in the Rookie Draft.we're doing exactly that with Keefe and thomas

Ok got ya. It's not worth the risk then. Someone would definitely take a punt on him in a rookie draft wouldn't they... ok ok.. I get it now. haven't you embarrassed me enough already?.. (ok yes i know I did it all by myself)Yes it does, for us to be able to put him on our rookie list, we have to de-list him and pick him up in the rookie draft, what we did to Tony Armstrong last year.
It gives teams a chance to pick him up in the national draft, pre season draft and teams who have picks before in the rookie draft. It also straight up allows teams to sign him as a de-listed free agent.
yeah okyou sat in front of him.. awesome
