which one of those has explosive pace in the midfeild? Something we lack.
Add in freeman.

Which one of those is Always injured and never plays?

Back to square 1

She would be the perfect footy nut wife to talk footy with at home with a few frothies
Very good, i like that thinking
Maybe we need to trade in for her ;)

Our midfeild will have depth but it won't have stars like brisbanes 01 02 03 04 GFs
Voss Lappin Black Akermanis

We have one star in Pendlebury. Swan is nearly done and will be gone by the end of 2016. Treloar might make 2. That's it. It's not the midfeild some and making it out to be.

We needed guys like Freeman to become the next Dangerfeild to win flags.

lol Freeman is Dangerfield now?
Puh-lease!

Stars are developed. The guy can't even get on the park. His career could be over by the time his next contract expires.

Adams, De Goey, Broomhead are all coming along nicely. Treloar is on the verge of becoming a star.
I truly believe Sidebottom is also a star and very underrated period.

There are plenty of Nathan Freeman's out there. We'll be fine.

No he is not.
Freeman hadn't played a game top 10
Still hasn't played a game unlike Watts
Thats right. after 2 years he still can't get on the park so nobody is any the wiser if he is any good or not. But we do know he's 2 years older and his hamstrings are dodgy (which for a speed/power athlete is a wee problem).. so what's he worth now??? Still a first rounder you think?o_O

Excellent summary. And in reference to the bolded....maybe they should sue?
If you want to put it into perspective then how would the parents of the Essendon 37 be feeling? And how much will they sue for? And why haven't their parents taken them out of the clutches of those awful medics that have cost them their careers?
Not sure parents can sue unless son is a minor ie under 18.
But the player(s) could seek legal redress.
May still happen with essendon players etc.
That said, freeman could always seek payment if he can prove surgeon etc was negligent etc.
Reading posters here, they say his dad was getting involved, dont know true or not but sometimes parents can be like some horse owners, ie instant expers telling trainers how to train their horses.

Stay classy :thumbsu:
Does your bigfooty name mean Dale Thomas _ Peter Daicos, you really are a pies supporter at heart aren't ya ;)

Are we really sure he's a pisshead who wasn't committed to his rehab? Seems a bit unfair based off hearsay and some Instagram photos

This is the Nathan Freeman who hopped off a plane from Dingleys 2014 footy trip and ran a time trial at Collingwood pre season the next day.

I never said he was Dangerfeild but many have touted him as a potential Dangerfeild type and Maxwell said it on radio today. He had to become a star under Buckley for us to win a flag imo. Buckley went young and it's not working out.

So you're pinning our future premiership hopes on Nathan Freeman?
I watched him in the VFL games that he played, he hardly sizzled. In fact, he looked rather average.
He's still young and has time but Adam Treloar is going to get us closer to a flag than Nathan Freeman.

Bucks did go young and we are still on the right track. The list is shaping up nicely. We are losing a player who hasn't played a game in 2 years. Our best side isn't compromised, in fact once we get Treloar it's already better. Possibly Aish too.

He played his VFL games after dominating our time trials and having a full preseason with zero issues... saying he wasn't ready is complete bullshit, the reason he went in for surgery after his VFL games is his hamstring never originally healed (and was NEVER going to heal naturally). Not being ready is complete tripe, not playing wouldn't of helped anything.

Did our medical staff mismanage his hamstring at a point(s)? I think so, but that's a very different question, your rumour is just people making up shit.

Stop it. You have no idea.

Tg I generally like what you have to say. Very humorous man. But I think you need to move with the times, or express Buckley hate some other way. This is player movement now. It's shear ignorance to think we won't lose a single player. Not to mention that, we're getting treloar in, who is 10x the player freeman is or even will be. We're also apparently way in for aish, who was rated higher than freeman Anyway. Both who are roughly the same age and will make us better.

I get that you don't like Buckley, but you're better than this.

Dawsome. Theres another bloke that's supposably left for opportunities. I'm sick of hearing that. It's all just P.R when Freeman is saying that. I'm paying membership money to the club and they can't keep our players!
Totally irrelevant to my post, so not sure why you tagged me in.

That said, does your comment stand if we attract Treloar and Aish, after retaining Scharenberg and numerous others?

I need to ask why we even have a PSD? I understand that players can be delisted after the National Draft and so its to give them a chance at finding a home but surely there should be just the one draft, you elect to rookie with your last six (less however many of the previous seasons rookies you've chose. To retain) selections and all of a sudden the threat of walking to thePSD disappears. All of a sudden the Saints have to go bang with an early pick or else risk missing out altogether, essentially in line with our dicey selection of Luke Ball which I personally feel is fair enough.

Spot on, it's just a threat weapon. Surely with the advent of FA it's time has passed.

Anyone read that section on Freeman on EB&W from that 'Family Friend'? I have combined a few posts
Nathan is very disappointed with Collingwood and their fitness staff. He has had setback after setback and believes he needs a fresh start under a new fitness department. He just wants to get back on the park and enjoy his football again.
The fitness department at Collingwood is a big reason why he is leaving.

Nathan was having hamstring injections last year and this practise was very red light to him. A first year player shouldn't be having such practises.
His father had taken issue to the club regarding these practises and it's a big reason why he is leaving.

There was no interfering with the father. He was respectful and asked serious questions about the fitness department at the club. He is entitled to be concerned about the physical and mental welfare of his son.

The kid is 18/19 and he is receiving hamstring injections. Before Nathan came to Collingwood, he had no soft tissue injury of that degree.

He had to sit on the sidelines and see close mates such as Kelly, Salem and the type debut and play at the senior level. You are losing a very good player and a young man of great character. He is just fed up with your fitness staff.

Nathan has been advised that the same fitness staff will be there. As far as he is aware, this Davoren person is still running the program.
So in the end a typical rage quit .

So you're suggesting Davoren did the initial surgery on the hamstring. That's why it went all pear shaped and had to have a subsequent clean-up?

What mischievous nonsense.

If there's substance to it, I hope this is being addressed and we get better. If it is true, it's also done now so learning from it is all we can do.

But dubious about taking anything an anonymous poster on the internet says as truthful. More likely this person has either made it up or is recounting info that is fourth-fifth hand and has grown in the telling.

But then what is your point?
What do you want the club to do - go back and retake that draft pick?

You can do all the scouting and preparation that you want - all you can do is take who you think is the best option at the time. You can't predict what will happen next, particularly if long-term injuries then come into the picture.

That is the nature of drafting. All you can do is do as much work as you can before making your decision and then hope for the best.

I could list failed top 10 picks for every single club... it happens, you deal with it and move on. For the most part, I think our drafting has been pretty good.

The Portland Trailblazer have taken 2 of the biggest howlers in draft history: Sam Bowie over Micheal Jordan, and Greg Oden over Kevin Durant.
Their front office and scouting department have always been consistent in their recollection of those picks: 100 times out of 100 they would make the same decision based on the information they had in front of them at the time... and most other clubs would've made the exact some decision in the same position.

The Blazers have almost matching colours to St Kilda... Perhaps it's meant to be. Maybe Freeman missed his calling as a crippled point guard rather than as a crippled footballer.

My point was simply that I'm disappointed that Freeman has been a wasted opportunity. With the benefit of hindsight we got one wrong, even though we couldn't crystal ball it at the time. It's frustrating and disappointing. That's all.

As I said earlier, hopefully we can turn this into a chance to land someone who is actually fit and (supposedly) wants to be here, like Aish.
