What like becoming the greatest WA football exponent of our times?
Well yeah, there's that but that is a one off piece of merch. not some limited edition of 10,000 chinese piece of junk.
I'm kind of surprised Fyfe didn't want to keep it but I guess they have several jumpers per game in case one rips or whatever and I imagine Fyfe isn't focused on memorabilia at this point. He's firmly focused on the present. He has bigger fish to fry!

Hey on FB people are saying Fyfe does the sign of the cross at every bounce down. No one can confirm it with a video though. Anyone seen this?

Yeah, I saw it during the Crows match and it's the first time I've seen it, but I got the feeling it was more wiping moisture off his nose and then wiping it on his jumper (chest area).

Also on AFL360, they showed him juggling 3 footballs, and then juggling 3 footies and bouncing one of them off the wall during the juggle.

Is there nothing that Fyfey cannot do????

I noticed that on the TV on Saturday. Don't use Facebook. I asked my ex Aquinas mate about it. He's an Eagles supporter so was limited to monosyllabic grunts.

From what I saw, Fyfe touches his head at the forehead (maybe adjusts the headband?) then the hand goes towards the shoulder, but not obviously to the other side.
I don't know if it's the cross, or just a habit to keep the hair out of his eyes. Or a communication sign to tell Sandilands which way to palm the ball.

The boarders had to attend mass at the chapel on a weekly basis, though I wouldn't say the school was very religious. Most of the RE classes were treated like a joke because during his time there it wasnt a TEE subject and only needed a C to graduate.

Plenty of nominal catholics do this out of habit, regardless of the strength of their religious beliefs. Just a habit they pick up in school.

I thought I saw him do it once, but wasn't really sure if it wasn't just some other random movements that looked like it.

He's just multi-tasking and studying for his pilot's test by reciting the shape of a helicopter rotor as he waits for the next opportunity to clear the ball.

Meanwhile all the rest of the midfielders are praying to Fyfe not to take out his almighty vengeance upon them.

Ok I'm keeping my eye out for this next time... He doesn't strike me as the religious type

I thought he was just adjusting his headband. Whatever the case he should keep doing what he's doing

He says in this that he's a Catholic, but that doesn't mean that he is practicing.

I was at the North Melbourne game and he did it a few times before bounces. Looks like a little superstition but pretty sure its the sign of the cross, it just looks like he doesn't want it to be so obvious.

Few blasts from the past there!

Hmm just rewatching the weekend's game (because any excuse - what a game!) and it seems like he's crossing himself at the bouncedown after 1/2 time. They've got the camera focussed on Fyfe, but he doesn't make it super obvious
