Really off topic but -
This is why:

(1) Pavlich will play Mid/HFF for the rest of his career whilst Harvey is the coach
(2) Bradley is a really important part of the side and Anthony will struggle to get a game unless he can put at least 75% of what Mayne does defensively.
(3) Part of the reason why we went Pitt over Darling (IMO Darling will be a much much better player overall though, but can totally understand and agree with the Pitt pick reasoning).
(4) Getting Ruckmen that can kick goals becomes more important to us under this structure...

Let's not be drawn into the same style of thinking again. Everyone had this argument in 2009 when we picked Hill over the likes of rich. A skinny kid compared to a strong bodied, ready made player. Everyone knows Hill has exploded past Rich and the same could happen with Pitt when he adds the size. You can alway add muscle size but you can't teach the skills that Hill and Pitt posess.

Just read that Tofu.... nice article... U can take the boy out of the country but cant take the country out of the boy I'd say!!

I don't know who your list manager is but you guys have drafted really well and also picked up some great mature age players in the last few years.
I hope freo can have some success... soon

Great article had a chuckle "....his teammates mocked him for reading the Lakes Link News - Lake Grace's local newspaper - on a flight to Melbourne"

So we got pick 3 and 6 in the '09 draft. Not bad.

With the Darling comment, he looks a very good player and plays WCE "Mayne" type role. He's a ready made footballer and good pick up. But isn't this whole thread about how good Freo's pick 20 is from 09? Suban, Ballas were around the same pick in 08? Surely the Recruiters at Freo have demonstrated they know what they're doing, Pitt was touted as a GC pick and think in time it will be demonstrated we got a steal at pick 20. While his kicking has been wayward these first outings I think that has more to do with nerves than skill.

Long story short I didn't know anything about Fyfe till he got the RS last year now now he's a star at pick 20, and wouldnt be surprised to see the same written about Pitt in years to come.

Interesting that I came away from tonight thinking Fyfe had a quiet game by his standards - only to look at the stats and see he had 29 possessions!

Shows what high expectations I have of the little champ already.

I'm with you there Esti - I thought both Hill and Fyfe were quiet by their usual standards, yet they still got a lot of the ball

I swear someone had dipped the ball in grease the way both teams were dropping it all over the place - and it slid along the ground a lot rather than bounced - it didn't look overly duey
