Why didn't this guy advance and get promoted from our rookie list. Seems to be going well at the Bombers now, was it his attitude, maybe needed to get delisted to go forward.
Attitude

overweight, somewhat lazy

Very similar to JAson Roe who we also had rookie listed

We shouldve tried for Andrew Lovett in the off season...

Would love to see him running through the middle for us

Yeh except we'd see him running along the boundary instead.

I'd love to see Thomas at Essendon.

Funny but true.

But atleast he'd run along the boundary with pace!

Thomas would fit Essendons game plan for sure.

Reckon Essendon would trade Thomas for Lovett or Winderlich? :p:o

We have to be realistic about it.
Winderlich and Lovett are better players than Thomas.

No way Essendon would be dumb enough to have traded Rhyce for Lovett.
Good on Sydney for getting him though. He deserved a chance

If used properly Thomas will be better than Winderlich and Lovett.
If used properly Thomas could very well be our best player.

I don't think people realise just how much our gameplan stifles him imo. He'd be dominant at Essendon.

He'll surprise people one day.

Yeah, would have needed a sweetener.

Lovett Murray was lazy fat and no good. He was rookie listed again at Essendon IIRC. His still not that good IMO.

Andrew Lovett whilst playing more consistant footy this year is one of the most over rated players in the league IMO. He'd struggle to no end at Collingwood. Of course he'd be a massive upgrade on Corrie, Cook or Ben Johnson.

Lovett-Murray has been in and out of the Essendon side for some time now. Decent player, but he isn't the same standard as the others. He's only now trying to push into the midfield, and it has taken him a lot of work to get his size right. Lost a lot of weight over the pre-season.

No doubt a talented player, but he is only a fringe type player in your 22.

Bwahahaha.....
Thomas, Rocca, H. Shaw ring a bell!!!

There is daylight between Lovett and those impostors you call footballers

Lovett up until this year has been about on par with Thomas. Rocca is a 200 gamer who has carried a foward line for most of his career and makes the players around him better.

Heath Shaw over the course of his career has impact on games more often then Lovett.

To put it simply I just don't rate looking good that highly in a footballer. Effectiveness and impact above excitement factor. Like I said Lovett is playing more consistantly this year and he may live up to the hype, his not there yet though.

Don't get too down on youself, he isn't very highly rated at Essendon, you hardly let a gun go.

He can look ok, but he lacks ticker.

What are some other players we have let go ?
Like some rookies or youngins who didnt play games ?
I have herd Roe, Lovett Murry so far anyone else ?

lovett-murray is ok , not like im gutted the pies didnt keep him. Same goes with Roe.

As for N Lovett , its the same as S Johnson , looked like a massive gamble at trade period to clubs and no one wanted to take eitheir of them on. Easier to comment on them a year or two later or watever and look smart and say we shoulda got them.

Sometimes players just don't hit their straps at one club and need a new environment/new coach/kick up the behind.

At the risk of making a racial stereotype, we don't traditionally have a great record with indigenous players either. Leon Davis is the exception, in that he's stuck around and achieved somewhat near his potential.

Robert Ahmat went to Sydney after showing a bit here and there.
Roe went to Brisbane after failing to wise up.
Cole was a talented player who wasn't prepared to put in the necessary work.
Egan had more confidence than professionalism.
Nathan Lovett-Murray didn't gel at Collingwood before improving at Essendon.

Things appear to be improving however. Leon Davis is obviously already a star, and consistently one of our best trainers. I have high hopes for the likes of Dick and Wellingham, Bennell has a great deal of talent and could blossom with the right input from the club. Cox has attributes that aren't shared by many on our list, but may be at the crossroads in terms of his career.
