I played the whole first season with 9 minute quarters, just to build up skill points (and learn the game as I went). The second season I'm just playing key games, and the simulation is good enough to not make me regret it too much.

I have plays turned off as well - it gives so much more freedom. Otherwise it feels quite formulaic and tedious. It'd be a lot better if my side (Knicks) didn't turn over all the other starters every season...

I did the reverse in both 2K11, played key games in my first season (did well enough to raise my stats by quite a bit) and finished the build up in the second season by playing EVERY game.

In 2K12 i made sure to play every game, i did skip to playing every key game late in the season. But this was to get to the play offs faster. Didn't really affect my place in the standings as i was battling with Miami for the top spot..... while i had second well and truly sewn up.

Shannon Brown can go OFF!

I'm working on improving his shooting, when I can get that to reliable he will be unstoppable. He is athletic as they come, good complement to Nash.

Second year into my new franchise, playing with the Knicks and heres my starting 5.

Note: i done a fantasy draft.

PG - Rose (Lillard)
SG - Harden (Marshon Brooks)
SF - Wilson Chandler
PF - Hansborough (Thomas Robinson)
C - Marc Gasol (Tyler Zeller)

1-1 at the moment, but had like a 12 point lead in the game i lost.

Think i've found a bug. Before the lottery i can trade any 1st round pick nearly for another.

Decided to be a bit sneaky in my current My Player season, after playing the first couple of games at the regular 5 minute quarter length. I boosted the current game to 12 minute quarters, in the hope of boosting my stats averages up a little. I had envisioned it to be an 80+ point game, maybe 15+ rebounds, assists and steals. Didn't quite turn out that way, playing against Houston i started off really well (27 points in the first quarter). I didn't quite put together a solid game, by the end of game i only had 65 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 8 steals. Other than the score, it was basically a regular game i would have against the teams on the bottom of the standings.

I'll have to time it better so that if i decide to manipulate my stats by increasing the quarter length, to do it when i am playing the weaker teams. I put the length down to 6 minutes per quarter in the following match against the Bucks...... should have left it at 12. As i had 8 steals in the first quarter alone :p. Sadly i didn't follow it up with a decent game (finished with 12 points, 3 assists etc) - i kept on being subbed off after a foul, and wouldn't get put back on until the start of the next quarter.

I have a stupid question, why does the player indicator sometimes turn pink/purple ? I only noticed it recently while playing the pc version, i did think it could be video card related. But why does it turn back to blue in the following game ?

Doesn't that indicate the players "heat" or the hot streak. Ie the more blue it is the colder your player is, but if you keep sinking threes it starts to go red?

I just checked this out, you are correct. Thats really handy to know, time to heat up Harden in a game.

Thanks, after all that time, of playing i didn't know about that. The only time i saw that i was on a hot streak was with the fire icon. I had not seen the whole indicator turn pink/purple until last weekend (and i've had the fire icon appear many times over the last few months).

At least for me when i have seen it change colour, it stays that way the entire game... this also includes when i have a bad scoring run and my FG% drops to below 50%.

Finally got back into the game after giving it a break for a month or so and finally broke my points record playing as Durant, game 6 in the 1st round against Memphis sunk 81 points to absolutely steam roll them, held Gay to 10 points on the defensive end, though Dorell Wright came on and shot 5-7 beyond the arc on me. Could of gone closer to 100 as I went cold in the 3rd and only scored 6 points and missed alot of open 3s even though my release was good.

Season 3, early days.... but sitting pretty at 9 - 0. Only had two close games against Miami and Washington. Both of those were surprising as Miami appear to be starting the season slow with only 2 wins. I expected to wallop them, but they put up a fight until the fourth quarter, where the floodgates opened. Same scenario with Washington, they would not let up and the lead kept on changing throughout the match. Until the last few minutes of the fourth quarter, i went on a steal frenzy and helped the team win by 10 points.

Don't Know if anyone else has had this problem but i put my disc in and it loads up however NBA Today doesn't load and with that my rosters won't load and my my player is now gone along with my association.

I understand if nobody else has come across this problem, it just sucks when I'm really into the game and then Bang it all goes pear shaped

I am now in my 5th season of myplayer as a PG. Ive been traded between a few teams

Drafted by Philly
Traded to the Heat after my first season
Spent half a season in Miami then got traded to the Bulls
Afte the end of that season I requested to go to Memphis
I enjoyed being at Memphis but once my contract ran out they refused to meet my contract demands
After them not reaching my contract demands I accepted an offer from Orlando
After 8 games I then gave Memphis another chance to take me back which they did
In that Season I won the Championship with Memphis winning the finals MVP and got selected in the allstar squad for the first time
I am now 3 quarters through my current season and Memphis arent doing so well. So I got traded to the team that I have loved for such a long time Cleveland.

Cleveland were just in 8th seed when I joined them since then we have gone on to win 12 in a row and are now sitting 4th 3.5 games off 1st seed.

Overall is currently 90

I just started a My Player mode with current day rosters and as a PG I got drafted to Golden State at pick eleven after I completely tanked my interview with the Suns. I didn't have the best rookie showcase, unfortunately, only accumulating twenty-five points and seven assists.

I quite like Golden State even though I'm currently playing back up point guard to Curry. We have Klay Thompson as our starting shooting guard, but I think he's a little overawed because he's having little impact or influence on the result of matches. Bogut is a fantastic addition to the side in that he's so capable when it comes to scoring, but he has a strong presence on the defensive end also when it comes to rebounding and blocking shots. If I'm lost for options, as a last resort I'll just pass it to Bogut or David Lee in the paint and they'll usually finish and credit me with an assist. One tremendously weak link on the team though is Biedrins - I'll deliver him beautiful passes underneath or close to the hoop and he just doesn't have the ability to turn those passes into point scoring opportunities. He'll either miss it and the basketball rattles around the rim, or he'll get fouled and miss the free-throws.

Anyway, I think we have a serviceable team at this stage. I love that the coaching staff are giving me the opportunity to cement myself in this organization, and with every good performance I put in, my minutes often increase to the point where I'm now averaging thirty minutes a contest and I'm three away from potentially overtaking Curry or Thompson for the PG and SG roles respectively. I also really appreciate that when I'm in good form, the coach will allow me to remain on the court and in my preferred position ahead of the higher credentialed Curry, and he'll get relegated to SG. For instance, we were playing Houston on their home court and they were undefeated at that stage; I ran into some great from and subsequently played over forty minutes and led the team to a memorable and equally comprehensive victory. My last outing was against the Celtics in Boston, and I dropped 73 points and eleven assists on Rondo still coming off the bench, so I must be close to a starting position!

My plans moving forward is to ideally play out the year with Golden State, possibly honor my contract and remain there in my second year also because they're being really good to me at this stage in my career. As soon as that expires though, I want to move to a struggling team and perhaps assist them in the rebuilding phase. One drawback to playing with the Warriors is that it's quite difficult to break any team records when you have Wilt Chamberlain's historic effort of 100 points standing in your way. I'm merely rated a 66 at this stage and coming off the bench it's somewhat difficult to get close to it.

Tired of playing the greatest mode against Nique and having him constantly spin to the basket followed by an up and under. He constantly gets and ones doing it and he hardly ever did it when he played. I hate this game.

That's easily the weakest part of the game.

If that's in 2k13 I flat out refuse to buy it.
