ive got a soft spot for the raps cause of bosh. would like them to do well in the playoffs but something about them is holding me back from confidently tipping them - probably experience. but the only way to get experience is through, well making the playoffs year after year.

wish them well!

Well we wrapped up no 1 seed for the entire playoffs.
We'll rest Dirk for the finals and his shot at the finals MVP.

gridlocked, in all seriousness, how many Toronto games have you watched this season?

None. And I dont intend on watching any of their games anytime soon.

Can you prove to me that the Raps are a good side? I dont think so.

Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio and Detroit are good sides, the Raps dont even come close.

They arent a crap side, just an average one.

Well, it would be my word against yours, if we were to get technical and all that.

But by that same token, I'd dearly love to know how you rate the Raps as 'average' if you haven't even seen them play once. Given you've gone and rated the team list, I'm interested to know what you base such ratings on, if anything I guess, if you haven't seen them play once.

Spurs (57-21) schedule:
@ T'Wolves: W
@ Mavs: W
@ Grizzlies: W
v 14ers: W
= 61-22

Suns (59-19) schedule:
v Lakers - W
@ Jazz - L
@ Rockets - L
v Clippers - L
= 60-22

Playoffs: 14ers v Spurs, Lakers v Suns :D
hoping for an outcome like that to hell ><

No those 4 you mentioned are great sides. The Raps are a good side.

gridlocked is right the Raptors are an average team if u hav high standards.

There are 15 teams in the west, 8 of them have 50% win record or above. The Raptors are two games under 50% when playing against the west which would put them under those 8 teams in terms of record against the west.

That seems pretty average. I guess u can call them solid if you have a eastern conference standard.
But comparing them to the West's fab four would be taking it over the top.

That being said, they've had a very good year exceeding a lot of people's expectations. So they should be credited for that not bagged.

Hopefully the Bulls finish as the second seed in the East.

Possibly a first round against the nets/ wizards and then a second round against the Raptors on to the East Conference Finals :thumbsu:

Ah well I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

The Raps have done well in making the playoffs, which is an easy task in the Eastern Conference mind you, but wont go very far in the plays. 1st round exit for mine.

Lakers v Clippers arm. V Rad enters the game with a tight purple t shirt under the jersey. looks utterly gay.

FFS lakers get a defensive board!!!!

This game started out so well, but the Clips have just gone cold. 3/17 so far in the second quarter. Just ugly. Kobe is on fire though, could be on his way to 40+.

And to gridlocked: Dallas is a superb team. One of the best regular season teams ever assembled in the NBA. Phoenix too. SA and Detroit are championship proven teams. These 4 are fantastic teams.

The Raps are a good team. And you cant prove to me that they arent. Everything (stats, credible opinions) supports that statement.

Edit: gridlocked, you do realise that the Raps are playing the Wizards in the first round right? The same Wizards who are missing both Caron Butler and Gilbert Arenas? How on earth can you say that they will lose to them in the first round?

Sorry, didnt realise it was against the Wizards. Second round it is then.

Although the Raps are lucky Gil and Butler are out otherwise the Zards would have shat on their heads.

A 3-1 regular season series win to TDot would hardly suggest such an outcome.

Anyway, I don't expect us to contend. It'll be a case of first-time experience for alot of them. Hopefully we can make some noise, but I don't expect much more.

Good luck to the Raps though, they have been stugglers for so long, it would alright to see them do well.

****ing ****house performance from LA.
Kobe can score as much as he likes, but if we play like that in a last quarter come play off time we deserve a first round sweep.
Disgusting.

50 to kobe.

gotta say brand is one of my fave players, awesome blocking machine.

maggette just hit in the nuts! lol

Kobe who shoot so well for 3 quarters, chucks in the last, thus the Clippers lead the quarter 30 to 16 and the Lakers will go down.

You're going to blame Smush? He had a lowly last Q, but he got 19 on +.500 shooting and 8 assists. That's a good game by the street-ball king.

I'd be more inclined to ask Turiaf if all those fouls were necessary?

Maggette and Brand though. Wow. :thumbsu:

Um, no the West does not have 8 teams with a .500 win record. They have 7 and the East have 6, not a huge difference! Whats the Lakers record against teams in the West or teams over .500 for that matter.

The West's fab four are great. The only person who compared them is gridlock and if he thinks those teams are just 'good' then he is well wrong.

Luke Walton particuarly dominant.

btw we're trying to play Denver (we want to shut up that moron on here) so we're planning on losing tommorow.

cheers xxoo! 69#$%#$

Giving up home court to the Spurs would be a very bad idea.

I was just using those 4 as a comparison to Toronto. Obviously the Raps are no where near those sides.

It all depends on how you class them too. I see the Mavs, Spurs, Suns and Pistons as the good teams.

Cavs, Bulls, Jazz, Heat and Rockets as the pretty good teams.

Raps, Lakers, Nuggets, Zards, Magic, Nets, Hornets, Pacers and the Clippers are the average teams.

The rest are poo.

I think they can hang with that 2nd group. 1 last thing I will say is on Jan 3rd the Raps were 13-19, they now sit at 45-33. A lot of those games have come with injuries to many key players too.

Also in that time they lost to Dallas and Cleveland by 1 point and beat Chicago (twice), Houston, Miami and Denver.
