Over the last 4 weeks it seems like everyone is an expert and knows just what we should be doing when it comes trade week. So with that in mind I thought why not get all us 'experts' to put up what we think might/should happen come trade week with regards our trading and just see who knows that they are talking about.

Here are mine to get things going:

Tambling to Dogs for Harbrow compo pick and/or Hill.
Dogs need a HBF to replace Harbrow and Richie could be just the answer, the Harbrow compo pick is fair value IMO perhaps with someone like Hill thrown in for good measure.

3rd round pick to Lions for Sherman
I know most of the talk is about us offering up our second round pick, but for mine I reckon we might be able to get it down to a 3rd round pick especially with us helping the Lions out of their cap problems by taking Sherman on.

4th round pick to Dons for Houli
With Houli looking for greener pastures I believe a 4th round could get the job done. Dons took him with a 3rd round pick 4 years ago and he hasn't really set the world on fire since then. At least this way the Dons get something for him.

Polo to Sydney for Veszpremi
No real foundation for this trade other than it being a couple of players looking for a new home. Veszpremi has struggled to get a game for the Swans while Polo went backwards this year after a solid season last year.

As this is a thread in fun I'd like to ask that posters don't go getting into arguements about what other put up. This is not a discussion thread, well at least not until after trade week.

Well on the other thread, Mundy re signed, so this is what is left of the scuttlebutt. I thought it was Polo to GWS or Essendon though. On a positive, for all the emotion of trading Foley, we will now see what happens, as he will get another year.

I dont presume to know what will actually happen, but I have been told that our big focus will be for a massive upgrade of our backline.

That makes a lot of sense. In the modern game it's more about safe delivery of the ball to the forwards without turnover than it is defensive punches etc.

Well at the risk of being accused of being boring.... I hope not much happens but I'll have a stab at a couple...

Polo/Rance/Thursfield for Vespremi

The other two to be traded for picks

Hopefully be don't give anything away for Houli but if we do, I think it will be one of the picks we trade in for one of our surplus backmen.

Hislop to be delisted or traded for a later round pick or struggling player from another club like Farmer was last year.

Jordan McMahon for pick 215 in the WNBA mop boys draft (again a decision that will have ripped them off)

Rance to Carlton for Shawn Hampson
Polo to Essendon for Houli
Nahas to West Coast for 3rd round pick

McGuane to Gold Coast for pick 9 or 11. No less or we keep him.

Tambling+4th for Sherman+3rd & we take on his contract :thumbsu:

Rance to hawks for 1st round pick :thumbsd:

mcguane to gc for pick 15 :thumbsu:

polo + 3rd for vezspremi +4th:thumbsu:

houli for 4th rounder or polo :thumbsu:

thursty+4th to westcoast 2nd pick :thumbsu:

1--- tambling to dogs everitt to carlton pick 18 to us

2---- rance to hawks for pick 19 or to dockers for pick 20

3----mcguane to lions for sherman

4---- polo to essendon for houli

5---- thursfield to saints pick about 42

so we pick up houli and sherman and picks 18 ,19or 20, and 42

and we lose tambling , rance, mcguane, polo and thursfield :thumbsu:

doubt very much dogs will be trading their first round picks as would probably have them banked away to use if necessary on wallis / libba's boys if another team bids for them.

Father/Son bidding occurs before Trade Week so they'll know whether those picks are available if they haven't been bid by then.

To suggest McGuane to GC at all let alone for pick 15 is fanciful, that would mean that he is worth more than the compo handed out to Adelaide for Bock (end of first round pick), dream on.

If Tambling goes anywhere, it'll be to the Dogs for Harbrow's compo pick and another player but I don't really see it happening.

We'll grab Dowler in the PSD. Depending on interest in him we might offer a rookie spot.

Polo will go to Essendon for Houli, possible with an exchange of high end picks (3rd/4ths). Better if Houli walks to us in the PSD.

Rance will stay put, can't see us trading away a third year tall. Nor can I see us trading Post (can't remember who suggested we were looking at doing that). We'll add pace to the former and try him off the wing and we'll play the latter as a Ryder type ruck/forward.

We'll look long and hard at Veszpremi, iffy on what we'd provide them, we'd love to shovel off Hislop and a 4th round pick (3rd being reserved for Sherman). However Hislop's disposal is too poor and the only player we've got I've heard they're interested in is Rance, doubt that though.

Sherman may come to us, who knows, all speculation but the offer of a 3rd round pick and all of his contract may ring true.

Doubt highly we'll trade for another ruck, if the last 3 rounds of 2010 are any indication of Hardwick's future plans, he hopes to go forward playing the 'new style' game with only one semi-mobile ruck and another fully mobile (Ryder type) ruck.

How good are they though...is there a general consesus that either are worth high picks?

It will be a miracle if Richie is still with us at the end of trade week.

Sherman will end up on our list somehow.

So will Houli.

We will lose one of Nahas / Polo.

Definitely worth at least bottom of the first round picks. In addition to that, at least one team will bid on them to force the Dog's hand so that they don't pick up what would be effectively four first round draft picks when you include harbrow's compensation.
