Could be. His technique looks awkward to me. And it's hard to improve kicking in general.

Never going to be an Elite Kick but could come good enough

As Jen2310 said Adams played that Role and he was not a Great Kick and could say the same about Mitchell as not a Great Kick

Just get the Hard Ball and get it to the Outside Players like Nick and Others and Tackle as well to have a Defensive Side to his Game

Good point Dave. His kicking would probably be pretty close to those 2. Adams could hit a few but geez he missed a lot, badly, as well. Titch is pretty average by foot.

Love to hear all the praise coming Neds way- deserves every ounce of it!

I'm bummed that we unearthed this gem, but I'm stoked that you guys are polishing up to the shine I know he deserves.
Can play a similar role to Connor Nash at Hawks. Not the prettiest technician but can be very effective negating opposition clearances and ball movement

Love this post. Trouble with all data used in AFL is its done by people who have no statistical training so the interpretations are pretty meaningless overall.

I am pretty sure if you did bring in a real statistician their conclusion would be its interesting data but unfortunately you can't draw any significant conclusions from it.

At the end of the day it gives some guidance but the conclusion drawn from it are uncertain. That's how the AFL should see it. Hoynes great to listen to but at the end of the day he is a zealot who doesn't really understand what he is doing. Drawing up lists of data and then doing basic comparisons and finishing with big conclusions isn't statistics.
I'd say there are two arms to the Champion Data business. The core one is selling their collection of data to clubs and the media, but they're also beginning to get a media revenue stream and that requires putting a spin on the data. I'm sure that they'd also suck in some clubs to buy their spin as well.

Take their spin with a massive grain of salt. They're just guessing at causation.

In this Before Drafted Video showing him taking Marks up Forwards and Kicking Goals.

Show some Versatility and at 192cm he is same height as Miocheck

It’s a great feeling to know we stole one from the Hawks.

Pretty sure tay Adams lasted 200 games with poor kicking [emoji23] Ned will be fine
He seems to be much improved on last year and only just turned 22
Still has plenty of improvement in him
When Taylor Adams was 22 he’d already played 43 games and was averaging 20 possessions per game.

Hopefully Ned makes it after the signs he’s shown but he’s still a fair way off from being fine.

Tay obviously had more opportunity in a young side, but just saying if he gets constant opportunity, his kicking won't be much of an issue.

I’ve seen enough.
Premiership teams need a guy to come from the clouds and make a serious contribution.
Long is the one.

You have to demand the opportunities though. Taylor Adams was able to that because he could find the ball. Long apart from Port game hasn’t yet.

Agree though kicking unlikely to be an issue given the physical nature of his role.

Our future sure looks a lot brighter if he makes it.

Of course, we'll need him to find the ball a lot more than he has since he has been with us. Not just the other stuff he does, which is very welcomed. If he can accumilate a bit and average 20-25 disposals along with his defensive stuff, that would be a huge plus.

Given his current average is at 10 and all the defensive elements to his game I’d settle between 15-20 disposals.

He’s up to 15 this year, and that’s also starting as sub.
Screaming break out year.

Peter McKenna needs to come down and teach Long how to kick for goal. That would be the icing on his cake I reckon.

Do for the Whole Team more then just Long

The scariest thing was Adam Simpson saying he went to consult Hoyney on what his new gameplan should be.
