I was always hopeful for his success. But I never expected this from him. He's been able to lockdown players while winning it himself. This is the level I was hoping from Ed Allen. But to have Ned go this well, that's huge.

If Ed can come along in the same fashion, we'll have 2 big bodies in and around packs to body guys off Nick for years to come.

A Nick, Ed, Ned and Thomas Maguane midfield is a very exciting prospect, while being very young.

Agree. Maguane on the outside would be great. Looking for pieces around those 4 would be exciting.
Just hoping the form Ned is in he can sustain. It's a long season.

He was fantastic in the GF, but I don't recall him being fantastic in every final. I could be wrong. But through the season I noticed he produced a quiet one every second or third game, Sidey was the same , which he's remedied this season. But the guy can't take a trick with injuries and by the time he gets back we can't expect the output of 2023 finals series, that's why he's not worth talking up as someone to add to the midfield mix this season, he simply won't have enough time to get up to pace. And Ned Long has played 3 consecutive above average games when starting as a 22 year old which is enough for me to be convinced that we don't need to crave the return of Tom. Hope I'm wrong and Tom comes back and smashes it.

So Ned's kicking efficiency is projecting south rather than north......Hand ball off to someone that can kick Ned, 33% KE on the weekend, Woah!

Edit: I'd imagine that being able to kick is a fairly desirable skill set at the top level!
