Is it just me or is the Carlton bashing at an all time high?

-People ringing into radio stations saying that not only did Carlton tank in '07 but have been doing it for 8 years and journalists agreeing with them.

-The Chris Judd Visy deal is a rort- all he's done for them is bring out a kid's jigsaw puzzle.

-The media waiting to pounce on Fevola's every move.

etc....

Is anyone else finding it a bit much or is it a case of stuff 'em we're Carlton!

Any time anyone bags the CFC I suggest everything they are saying is true and we just can't get enough. You really think a quiet, restrained chat explaining how misunderstood and unfairly dealt with by AFL and public alike will have an opposition supporter walking away thinking "Hey, those Carlton guys are okay. We should back off them"?

Never going to happen so don't waste your breath trying. Revel in our infamy - it actually sends the non-believers seriously demented.

It is absolutely killing some supporters (& some members of the media) that we have started winning regularly. They have been so used to getting in easy 'pot shots because of our on-field mediocrity from 2002-2007, they now are having to focus on off-field stuff, which they know very little about & have to rely on misinformation in the media, to find a negative.

This is only going to get worse over the coming years, as we once again become a 'power house' of the competition, but through all of it we will be able to rely on Essendon supporters to keep us amused with their claim the Bombers are better than us, even though they have finished below us in the last 2 seasons.

I must admit I am particularly looking forward to our 17th premiership, when the opposition supporters will 'bitch' about it being tainted. The more they will bitch, the sweeter it will be.

My favourite reply to the alleged tanking is to just agree and say "Yep. Carlton only ever loses games when Carlton wants to lose games - whats your excuse?"

Ratts said he was gonna bring back the swagger, but I didn't think i'd get it too. Its been great, because of the on-field success I just think "Ah yes. All this negativity just means its not my imagination, we really are back"

Collingwood is just the club everyone hates... because to love to hate them means that they have something to be jealous of... and the filth have 9/10's of **** all that anyone wants (unless you are a filth supporter and then you just want a dose of the clap)

I love being hated for supporting so successful a club...

ive found it funny how all week people whose teams (eg. collingwood) are still playing finals are more concerned with ringing in to radio stations to bag the blues.

I bet James Brayshaw and David Smorgon wished that their clubs were hated like ours and got the press we get.

Think we deserve much of it. There are issues with our culture and it does affect us on field at times aswell. Think that if we are ever to be a great club again that we need to look very deep inwardly. Aside from this who gives a s**t about criticism. Take it onboard without being a victim and sort through what is helpful and what is not. Think too many supporters and footy people at Carlton are precious.

Try a couple of yers back when we won the NAB cup then lost 18 games for the year, board and coaching staff were a rabble...........Whitnall was our captain and was embroiled in "egg-gate".......

This is just the animals sensing a big event around the corner and not knowing what to make of it......

It's called the sounds of FEAR!

The funniest one for me was last year after we lost to the Dons in round 13, and the Tiges had just beaten Port at AAMI.......we had the Tiges for their big birthday game that week........and all week the Tiges fans were dishing it out on SEN about how they were gonna belt us and what a rabble we were.............priceless.....just enjoy it.

The slogan "They know where coming" has hit a nerve and there is nothing they can do to stop it.
Fev plays up, so they kick the boots in, yet any other club would take him in a heart beat. We are the only club dumb enough to get caught paying players under the counter because the AFL introduced the Cap to let bottom clubs catch up. Yet I bet you every other club is or has done the same. They are happy we had our draft picks taken away and fine us 1 million dollars and sucked for 7 years, yet are pissed off we are improving as we gather draft picks because we finished last or near last. We come up with a slogan and they take it as we think we can win a premiership this year.Chris Judd choses us over everyone else, but suddenly he is every rude word under the sun.
It doesn't matter what we do or say, they will always have snappy responses.
But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Jealousy is a curse. People can't help but try and cut the tall poppy down. I love supporting this club and laugh at everyone else trying to drive the boots in.

im just like every other blues fan, i love our club being hated, collingwood will always be the most hated and we will always be not far behind, but i couldn't give a s.hit and love it, it just tells me all opposition fans would love to be as powerful as ours

the obvious reply will be 'ur cheaters, u tanked, etc' but i couldnt give a s.hit, the fact is every1 has moved on and we were severely punished, we will only improve from here and become more and more hated, the fact we are disliked just tells me we are heading in the right direction
