The line of employees getting the sack. The person at the front is first to go, let's call him Matt H, no, that's too obvious, M Hass is better. Hamish is right at the back with everyone in front of him.
In other words, reference to "the firing line".

Good lord reading thru some of these posts is quite the head shaker.

I seem to recall our club was in the Grand Final last year, yes?? Do we have issues this year? Certainly. A run of bad luck with injuries dating back to the tail end of last season has definitely stung and will continue to sting.

But good lord, with everything that has been thrown at them over the last 2.5 seasons, we should all be pretty thankful. I, for one, was certain the team would spiral into the abyss after an unprecedented mid-season tragedy. They didn't and even managed to pull off a W on the road in a classic finals game that very same season.

Did it hurt we couldn't finish the job---damn right it did. But injuries happen and guys start to decline on every team, in every league and in every country.

The alternative is being Carlton or GC or Brisbane. Anyone want to enjoy watching the crap those teams roll out every week? Hell, Carlton is on television every 25 seconds so we ALL get a real goooooood look at what incompetency looks like. Be thankful, that for the most part, we get to watch entertaining games and come home with the W more times than not. The alternative is neither fun nor is it very pretty.

Will we get in the 8 this year? Will we surprise once there? I have no earthly idea---but I believe the boys are a chance when healthy. They can beat ANYONE.

So buck up crabbyasses---you want real things to complain about regarding draft selections, coaching, and utter incompetence...the Browns open training camp end of July. ;)

I don't love any player if they cant win us a flag, but remember we don't have the depth to replace these guys because our list is crap

lets be honesrt was Jarman a good pick up????? at all
SA lad, no go home factor just like you wanted.

Or they could have picked up gore aswell

People get paid the big bucks to identify the right talent it’s easier if you are in a Vic club as plenty of non go homers to leave

Goes to show how good our recruiter was back in 1997

Yes it would be hard to follow one of those hack clubs

But I don’t take any pride in following a competitive team either

I am envious of Geelong and the hawks

Jarman was recruited as PR move, not as a list management one.

It worked given the amount of raving around here when it was done.

I am very confident in my bet he'll never play AFL football, if he can't even make the side now he never will.

Then that is crap drafting

I don't disagree at all. I was calling for us to pass on him entirely and nothing since has changed my mind.

I doubt our recruiters did it on their own, they're too good for that, they were told to pick him.

Hahahaha of course they were

Is that like they were told to pick up fog and macpherson aswell

Or how Pyke was advised he must play Mackay

Love that tin foil hat

These employees are just puppets for the greater good aren’t they

Who y'all callin' a crabbyass?? ;)

Not to mention Basket Case #3, St. Kilda.
Did you see them vs Sydney yesterday? Lazy. Disorganised. Inept. Woeful. Dispirited.
1) Will we get in the 8 this year?
2) Will we surprise once there? I have no earthly idea---but I believe the boys are a chance when healthy. 3) They can beat ANYONE.
1) Probably.
2) Hope so! I'd love it if we did a Bulldogs.
3) Can't see it, mate. Even with a near-full list (Smithers will be too underdone to play finals, I'd reckon) we're not going to be match-fit-hard to beat the current top 5. Looks like GWS might make that top 6, too. We woke GWS up last week and their bye is perfectly timed now.

You get a chance for The Revenge of AmericanCrow later today. Ch. 7 have delayed the game nearly 3 hours on free-to-air, by which time you'll know the result.
Feelin' mischievous? ;) (please don't PM me with spoilers  :() :D

There are far too many negative threads on our board after a few losses. If the club followed the advice on here there would be no coaching or admin senior staff left plus quite a few players gone. How about we place all these negative pieces of bs into one mega-thread and call it something like NEGATIVE NEALS AND NELLIES POST HERE. That way the perennially depressed types that inhabit our board along with the trolls from other clubs that infest us will have a home and the rest of us might get on with some rational debate about the club and where we are at present.
FFS pull yourselves together. You follow a bloody good football club that achieves more than most. Yeah, we haven't won the Big One for a couple of decades yada yada yada...Boys Club....Coaches no good...David Mackay.....yada yada yada....fitness staff....David Mackay....f***ed culture....David Mackay....yada yada yada. Getting to the stage where the misery guts on here spend inordinate amounts of time being miserable and trying to bring the rest of us down with them
Buck your ideas up.

Here’s a good story !

Linden Stevens (born 13 June 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Adelaide in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Selected with the 65th pick of the 1997 AFL Draft, Stevens was brought into the Adelaide team after some good performances in the SANFL with Sturt.[1] A utility, he debuted in the final round of the 1998 home and away season against West Coast at Subiaco and came off the bench to have five disposals.[2] The following week he played a qualifying final at the MCG against Melbourne but had just two touches and did not retain his spot in the side. Stevens, who played his early football at Scotch College, did not make any senior appearances in 1999 through injury and was demoted to the rookie list, then de-listed.[3]

^^ Bit of a sad tale. Imagine if he shone in the Finals in 1998 to be part of our premiership team, could have been a totally different story.
As it stands, I don't have any recollection of this guy at all!

Ah good old Scotch College. They've been producing hard as nails footballers for us for years now....
