Aussie driver follows Schumacher footsteps
Australian driver James Courtney will race in Japan next year for the team that propelled Ralf Schumacher into Formula One.

The 23-year-old from Emu Plains in Sydney has signed to drive in the Formula Nippon championship, which is Asia's top motor racing series.

Courtney dominated this year's Japanese Formula Three championship winning 13 of the 20 races and finishing on the podium in four others.

Ralf Schumacher won the Formula Nippon title in 1996 and graduated to Formula One the next year while his borther and six times world champion Michael drove for the same team before making his grand prix debut.

Ryan Briscoe is a lot closer...F3 champion and now full time tester for Toyota. He has a contract until 2007 and rumours are that he will drive for the team in 2005, probably replacing a retiring Panis??

Also, Webber recently vowed to bring F1 success back to Oz (ie. win the championship some day). He said 'In Australia if you come 2nd you're just one of the losers'. Great bloke and I'm convinced he'll do it one day:cool:

That WAS Zonta's job... now the little twerp has stolen that too.

I'd rather Webber be the only Aussie.
I have a thing for non-aussies. (perhaps not so much over-the-top hype about them?!?)
