Mcdonald's have re-signed with the Brisbane lions for another 5 years - which will take the deal until 2030. They've also upgraded their sponsorship, so i'll assume their logo would be shown on more than just the front of the jersey. I know Collar sponsors are kind of odd, but i'm more than fine with this. It's an inoffensive logo that matches our colour scheme perfectly. Also, given Youi are sponsored until 2029 as both the front and back sponsors, and Hyundai will remain with this club until the end of time, it looks like Brisbane will have the exact same set of jersey sponsors for the next 4-5 seasons. The only unknown is the New Balance deal, which runs out at the end of next season.
I just wish Youi would integrate a bit more into the kit. They've done it in other examples, why not ditch the black and white for maroon and gold :(

Do they? They only really need a clash jumper for when they play GWS. They could've worn the brown jumper in the final and there'd have been no issue. Gold Coast and Sydney are borderline a clash for mine and they've have been wearing brown in those games anyways.
Giants just need to make the #neversurrender their home jumper. Simple 😂

Yeah I hate having a major sponsor that wears the old enemy's colours.

You can’t wear a brown kit against GWS cause their home kit is 50% black.

I’d argue that Hawthorn and Gold Coast is also a clash particularly if it’s a day game.

It’s still crazy such a big brand like New Balance are happy to sell off their collar space. That said I think It’s more likely to see more maor brands join the trend than see NB regain that spot on their teams jumpers

is it just me or does something look different with the eagles wings on their jumper? Like they look longer or something? I could be so wrong though and just seeing things.
I don’t think it’s the same size Duggan wears on field. They usually wear something that tight fitting and hence the wings look small on those kits

I agree that Gold Coast v Hawthorn is a clash, that's why I pointed out that Hawthorn wear their brown jumper against them, and Sydney as well.

Given all of Adelaide, Essendon, Fremantle, Melbourne, Port Adelaide, Richmond and St Kilda wore their regular strip (with white shorts) last time they played away against GWS, I don't think it's an issue. All of those teams barring Melbourne v Richmond would wear a clash jumper against each other. Fremantle wear their white jumper against most teams as well but don't see the need to against the Giants. I just had a quick look at some highlights on Youtube to see if I thought those teams clashed, and it was fine, white shorts really stood out for some reason.

Tbf nb is actually run be belgravia in Australia and they would not have the money to sponsor one team let alone the 5 clubs they have on the books without selling the space.

Imo, considering ua have bought back the sternum spot after the transition from isc, the big players such as Nike, puma and asics will generally avoid selling the spot.

And I’d argue that all those teams you mentioned should wear a white guernsey against the giants. GWS have a messy home kit so white is usually a better option.

Wait whats the difference between nb/ba and UA/ISC?

Nb/belgravia seems to be heavily invested in sponsoring. They just landed the BBL

From my understanding isc was bought out by ua, with the company now affectively being run from the us. belgravia own the supply rights to the nb brand in Australia, so would manage and pay for all elements of the deals.

Personally would of thought the BBL appareal rights would be pretty cheap compared to the afl deals.

West Coast seemingly have a tendency to put their players in oversized jumpers for promotional shoots… castore debacle anyone?

Pretty sure that's not the case - UA bought half of ISC, all the operations are still run here out of Sydney but instead of ISC branding across professional and community teams it will be UA.

Tasmania making an NB version of the Foundation Guernsey. Interesting note, the back of Riewoldt's longy has his surname printed on it seems

i know they won’t be the final sponsor so it makes sense but should they have put the visit Tasmania logo instead of a second tassie logo since that’s where the sponsor will be anyways?

Just had a quick look, from the announcement in December last year ua are majority shareholders in isc.

My point with my previous post is that ua/isc have the financial backing to pay the full amount of an appareal partner in the afl, where as belgravia/nb wouldn't because belgravia dont have the finances from new balance.
