Hello everyone. I've just returned from my fifth trip to Australia, and for the first time I actually attended games - The Cats and Carleton at Telstra Dome, the Cats vs Melbourne at the MCG and the Cats vs the Kangaroos at Skilled Stadium.

I've been interested in the game since the early 1980's and until this year I'd only seen games on TV.

I've not really followed any team until this year, although I have been partial to teams from Victoria. However, I've become a Cats fan, but I have an excuse. A good friend of mine is Bruce Peake who used to wear number 30 with the Cats, and I also happen to know Fred Wooler.

Another good friend is Ken Rowe who used to play for Melbourne.

So you see, I'm sort of a newby, but then again I think for a Canadian I have a pretty good connection to your game.

Spread the word about our great game in the Great White North, as I'm spreading the word about your great game Downunder. Be sure to visit the hockey sub forum on Big Footy if you're a fan (surely you must be!)

Welcome along, great that you support the right team as well 24karat.;) I assume you're an Edmonton Oilers fan, I hope so anyway, go the Oil.:D I've got a few Canadian mates, some of whom live around Edmonton and a couple of my best mates live near Toronto, want to make it over there within a couple of years.

Some of you Canadian guys should get right behind the clubs over there, in particular the Toronto league, which probably offers some of the best standard footy outside of Australia.

The more the support, the bigger they'll grow with more participants and the more television coverage you'll get over there.

There is a Tri-Nations tournament/carnival featuring Canada, USA and Japan on the weekend of the 4th August in Vancouver. Should be worth a look.

Hope you'll also get behind the Northwind at the International Cup to be held in Melbourne next year.

I don't feel so alone now. I'm the only one in my area that I know of that has even heard of Aussie Rules! I'm just mad that Fox Sports Canada has switched formats and no longer shows footy or rugby. It's all soccer all the time. They were the only ones that showed it in my area.
