Time for newman to go to the middle and half forward, hes a good kick at goal on the run and from around 50. He's not tight enough in the backline and we need some insipiration from our skipper, kicking a big goal, getting important touches in the middle!!!

We also need to get thursfield back in, last year we where really settled in the 2nd half of the season and it all stemmed from our backline, Thursield ,McGaune and Moore all took the big key forwards they rotated etc, we then had mcmahon as the "sweeper" and schulz was used at half back, the thing that stood out most last year was that when we played against fev or buddy for example, if thursty or mcgaune had the job, they always got a lot of help outs from schulz/ moore, this season i havent seen any of that.

So a settled backline line up of, Polo , Thursfield, Moore
then across half back, McMahon, McGaune and Bowden

This releasing newman to play on a wing or even across half forward!

Agree.

It's a move I have been wanting to see for a while.

When he was younger I thought Newman had potential as a midfielder and would eventually play in the midfield for us but he hasn't been developed into that sort of player.

However a wing / HFF role I think would suit him. He certainly gives 100% and always puts his head over the ball and he looks like he has some pace. Excellent skills and a great long kick I think he could be very damaging.

Love to see him in an attacking role, however, it just won't happen.

newman to the hff would be a masterstroke, because he can take a shot from the 50m mark if they get it to him. it would reduce the amount of turnovers they make when they are moving it in the forward line. they have only scored 70+ points per game so far this season and that is one of the major reasons why they havent won many games.

Great idea. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:
Only change i would make is Bowden to a wing to play the role that Richo has been playing. He has the smarts and uses the ball a lot better than Richo ever could delivering into the forward 50, and let Rance find his feet on a HBF
