Next Two Weeks - Make or break

Two games against two of the premiership favorites.

If we win them both, we can rightly claim to be a potential finallist and even a premiership threat, having also beaten West Coast. We'll be 5 and 7 and an outside chance for a top 4 berth.

If we win one, we'll have our hands up as a very good team, a dangerous team, and a potential finallist

Lose them both and we're 3-9 and talking priority picks, or at least top 5 players in the draft.

Its a vital fortnight for the Pies. Gutsy or unlucky losses we cant afford, been there done that too many time already this year We need to win at least one to keep our season alive.

Though gutsy or unlucky losses we may have, at least 2 of them so far this year (Roos and Crows). Covert them now and we are 5-5 and in the eight....how close are we.

Geelong will be tough this week no doubt, we have a chance but the boys are going to have to be right on song as they were against the eagles. Hawthorn we werent quite 100% there and we got over the line. Melbourne I think we can beat and if we have Bucks back for that game it will be inspirational. Regardles sof the outcome, Cloke, Egan, Rusling, Davies, Rowe and company make the future look pretty rosy.

Finals are still a realistic chance but I dont think we will make it but it is a very even season. I'm torn between wanting to make the finals or picking up some quality midfielders in the draft.
I want the boys to play to their maximums and I am happy with that and come what may. Pride is very important. Our recent batch have looked encouraging but we are coming from a long way back here.

I'd rather make the finals, improving the trade value of our players at the same time, and recruit Dal Santo Power or similar, and get a quality midfielder at pick 10-12 in the draft (Egan went at 10 this year!!)

I'd also prefer every team got enough wins to avoid a priority pick, increasing the value of making the finals. If you can make the finals and still pick up a top ten player, that sounds ok to me

Errrr...how on Earth are we sposed to secure a Dal Santo or Power and still hold onto our first rounder??

Sounds like a great plan though. I'm just interested in the logistics!

Yeah so would I. My head gets clouded with fantasies of the top few picks in the draft and I get all shivery.
Astute drafting is really all we require and a couple of good midfielders should come through anyway. I would agree it might be hard to get hold of a Dal Santo type unless we finish bottom 2 or 3 and shaft someone seriously.
In such an even comp , a finals finish could be a very exciting time.
As stated...the next 2 weeks are vital.
