Puts it all in perspective, sorry to hear that.
Thanks.

My grandpa was a big blues fan when I was growing up. Go forbid mum likes footy when she was younger lol Thank goodness, my dad was a pies supporter.

It was a good service even though could only have 10 people. And I managed to deal with the carlton theme song. Just for that one day lol

This is all I saw in that article:

I liked Hine's comments about our 2021 pick and how he brought up the dog's 2020 pick.

Hine said:
Asked if the Pies would consider shuffling draft picks around to accommodate an early Daicos bid next year, Hine said: “It’s like any pick really. You look at whatever levers you’ve got and then you assess and away you go.

“The Bulldogs maybe looking at doing something not too dissimilar with Jamarra (Ugle-Hagan). At this point in time they’re picking somewhere in (Picks) 10, 11, 12, 13 thereabouts, depending on where they finish. But I would imagine that’s not going to be enough to bring him in, so they may look at the opportunity to get in to next year’s draft by trading that pick out.”

Collingwood 2021 father-son prospect Nick Daicos has caught the eyes of many recruiters already, with veteran recruiter Matt Rendell saying earlier in the year that he is one of the best recruits he has ever seen.

AFL National Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan saw him for the first time in a game that also featured the top two picks of the 2019 National Draft – Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson – and says Daicos immediately stood out.

“I saw him for half a game and gee he was exciting. You know who his teammates were in that game? Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson, he’s playing at Carey in a game and wow,” Sheehan told SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

“It only took about 15 minutes to see him to see that he’s got some magical talent and is really gifted.

“When there’s no space, he finds some. One of those kids with a beautiful step through and kicks it like a razor bullet as well.

“He’s a nice sized boy too, looks like he’ll grow to about the 185cm mark and is really an exciting talent that will be much talked about come 2021 his draft year.”

Nick Daicos’ older brother Josh has had an outstanding year for the Magpies, breaking out as a key part of their midfield and forward line.

Fav player Marc Murphy?

He had the choice of Pendles & Swanny, and he chose Marc Murphy? Hahah
When he walks through the doors of Olympic Park with a Pies bag, gets changed into the official training kit and starts playing kick to kick with JDG, Pendles and his brother... he will have forgotten whatever the hell those childish thoughts were and realise he's grown up to enjoy the finer things in life.

I'm assuming it wasn't always the case?

A pedigree name cuts both ways for a young footballer, at once overshadowing and highlighting him. Josh Daicos has a double helping: a father whose name is etched in Collingwood history and a younger brother, Nick, who is expected to go top 10 in next year’s draft.

The older brother views this not as a weight, but fortification. “Overall, Dad’s been my No. 1 influence,” he said. “And I’m best mates with my brother.” Pre-lockdown, they were a common sight together at the Holden Centre.

Daicos grew up Collingwood, of course. But in common with many others in the game’s pathways, he tended to watch out for players rather than a club. “My favourite players were always from other clubs,” he said. “I loved watching Andrew McLeod. My brother was [Alan] Didak when he was young, then Pendlebury.”

Daicos also credits the personal tuition of former Geelong great Garry Hocking, the Mapgies’ midfield coach until he was swept away in the pandemic purge this week. Daicos will miss him.
Good move Collingwood. Good move....

Good move Collingwood. Good move....

Just get rid of all our Good Coaches and just keep there Mates who are SHIT coaches

Here is a podcast with Peter Daicos that talks about Nick and his support for Carlton. I don't think we have anything to worry about.

Says that while he has a soft spot for them, he is in and out Collingwood. Basically gave Nick an ultimatium lol You either support collingwood or you dont live in the house Haha. probably was kidding about that.
If you want to listen, it starts at 37:40 mark.

Spoke to a bloke I know who is involved at another club and who I regard as an exceptional judge and hard marker. He said he took part in a session last year involving Nick. Said he was unbelievably good. At a time when I'm feeling a bit down about how my pies are travelling this put a smile on my face.

I know Daics Snr extremely well. A great mate of mine. Have watched the boys grow up. Trust me we are about to see the second coming of God.
Good to know the kids under no pressure to live up to the hype.....
