Just curious, would Nick be the only player in this draft, who missed a season of footy last year but gained time training with an AFL club? Or better question, are there any players with a similar leg up?
Not sure what other clubs did but I’m pretty sure we one of our NGA prospects (I think his surname is Dib) training with us in a similar manner to Daicos.

They all should be delisted but I reckon Callum and Thomas will remain, unless we get a new coach or something
Brown is contracted iirc. Thomas is already skating on thin ice, and will be well and truly drowning if his spot in the 22 gets taken by the likes of McReery or Ginnivan. If he’s depth by the end of the year (which should happen if we hope to improve) then he won’t get a new contract.

You’re the only person in 9 years that I’ve ever heard say BK ‘starred’ at SANFL level, so I’ll have to assume you’re putting mayo on that. When he was drafted the most I heard was that he’d performed well in the SANFL. The kids who genuinely star at that sort of level are taken early on. We’re talking the likes of Scharenberg, Aish, Rankine, Rozee and Lukosious. Now Aish is no star but he’ll play 150+ games. We’ll never know how good Beth could have been. The other 3 are out and our guns.
Sorry to harp on it but i think the point of BenKen does illustrate how some kids can shine really brightly but if they dont perform in U18's to the same level they can dip. You reckon Kennedy's CV at SANFL level didnt sit in the same class as Shaz, Lukosious, Rozee, Aish and Rankine but I dont see that

Quick measure of SANFL games and goals

Kennedy 2011-12 19 games, 14 goals (note 15 came at his 17yo level, next year he was hampered by groin injuries which meant he only had 4 SANFL games)

Shaz 2012-13 8 games 2 goals
Aish 2012-13 24 games 13 goals
Rankine 2016-18 23 games 33 goals
Lukosious 2018 13 games 14 goals
Rozee 2018 12 games 11 goals

Kennedys 2011, 2 years before he was drafted involved more SANFL games in a season than any of the players named. Best player in 2 of those games he was big news in SA with articles appearing both from the Crows and Port re their interest in bidding for him as an underager via the GWS concessions. Crows in particular were interested but price proved too steep. See the attached articles. 2011 Kennedy was seen as pretty hot property. He had groin issues in 2018 and still was AA U18 and a stand out but his star waned a bit and he drifted down the order.

Nick D's a better talent by the look than Ben Ken ever was but you are not seeing the interest there was in Ben Ken the year before he was drafted. Nick still needs to have a good U18 year or else he can slip. We all hope he wont

I wonder if he had op and that was why he just stalled and became a worse kick than Cal Brown?

And people are worried he won't handle the hype 😂
Yeah, he'll be fine. Already doing media. Was the face of the chargers campaign for their media day last week. He probably has more expectations on himself than anyone else.

Struck me as a very laid back kid when we interviewed him at testing day, certainly not stuck up or tied to cliches just a very genuine kid.

Yeah, does seem that way. I think it runs in the family. Probably not as shy as Josh I imagine. I get the feeling Josh was a bit more shy at 18, he's gotten better in recent years though. But I casually started chatting to Peter the other week before the dogs game back from the VFL game, he would chat to you like you've known him for years.

But with Nick, he does seem to be quite down to earth from media stuff I've seen.

He already looks like an AFL player. Dare I say he looks like similar body type to Bont.

Not saying he is going to be Bont, but he looks a similar body type
