I think Carlton need another small forward to compliment Eddie Betts. Do you think Nick Davis could be worth a punt? Concerns would be his attitude & lazyness, although Fev had similar issues and seems to have turned the corner.

The guy can play good footy at times, not sure how old he is wouldn't think he is over 27.

I wouldn't trade a draft pick in this years draft, what about Fisher.

I can't see a forward line of Fev,Lance,Kennedy,Waite,Fisher,Betts being a success.

Maybe we might draft a speedy small forward in upcoming draft.

My 1st thread go easy on me

Oh dear. Tarrant? Aker? and now Davis?? Why is everyone suggesting we recruit out of favour players from other clubs that wont benefit our team structure at all?

Cant see him at carlton, we have to toughen up our team, and davis hasnt got the grit we need.

Actually I'd like to elaborate on my earlier comment to this thread.

What is more of a key factor to a team winning a premiership, more important than Talent?

The answer, team RAPPORT.

You can have brilliant talent, but unless every member of that team, trusts, respects one another talent is not enough.

Look at our 95 team, everyone appeared on good terms... every goal we kicked, the hugs, the respect.

Look at Sydney last year, look at Adelaide this year... you can see the Adelaide team is not full of super stars but Craig has instilled great team rapport.

West Coast although more skilled in the GF last year didn't and still dont seem to have that same Rapport, there seems to be more factions within the team.

Look at North, the shinboner spirit is really Rapport.

Pagan is trying to instill Rapport into this team by getting kids to grow together.

Now back to Davis, why would we want a guy that breaks team Rapport to come to us. NO WAY... someone else can have him.

Even Aka who I would really prefer to have out of Gardener, Davis, Aka... still is a risk rapport wise but he's hard not to salivate over the thought of AKA.

let's build our midfield and have the midfielders rotating through the FWD pocket

IMO you can only play 1 specialist small FWD in the 22, we have betts who fills tnat role and when we improve our midfield, we will get more of the ball into the FWD 50, hence giving betts more opportunity

davies is a selfish footballer and that is something we can do without.

hmmmmm, what was that word again? i forgot already

Out of all these players that are gonna to be (supposedly) moving to other clubs, I think the best policy for Carlton is simple. Forget trading players, forget trading draft picks. We do what we did in 2003: we let all the other clubs fight over how much they are worth, lay low, then when the carnage is over we wait until the PSD and take our pick of the litter after Essendon. If we miss out, we miss out- who cares?? They wont be at the club in ten years time.

I wouldnt waste National Draft picks, or Waite, or Fisher, or anyone else ('cept Prender or Sporn ;)) on these blokes.

I know the guy personally and he is a loose cannon. Not the type of guy that mixes or blends well with others - may have an unsettling effect on the team with the baggage he brings.

No grazie!

I don't think so. First of all, we don't need forwards. We've already got too many. Secondly, Sydney would want probably a second round pick for him, which in this years draft could mean giving up a 150+ game player.

We have to stop worrying about taking other clubs head cases and only worry about drafting good young kids into MC Labour Park.

As mentioned previously, we need to build a team that is team orientated. A team that will back eachother up no matter what. Nick Davis is the definition of arrogance and is the most selfish footballer in the AFL. As far as I am concerned, he can stay in Sydney.

There is no way in the world that we should trade Brad Fisher!! The kid will be a star.

God I hope so im turning blue holding my breath. Havent acutally seen him do ANYTHING yet, but you never know.

Believe it or not Kennedy is ahead of him at this stage, dosent say much for his chances of being a star. With Fev, Lance, Kennedy, Murphy and even Waite ahead of him will be the sixth brightest star in our team........a team that is the worst in the league,.........not a very bright star then hey, more of a flickering fluro at this stage.

his form is very up and down, and we do have waite and fisher coming back from injury ( although maybe a little too soon based on the last game...). we dont really need him or, based on most of the above, want him.

In his defence, the kid has had an injury interrupted career to date.... He has great hands and has shown a lot of potential I think... I think he will make it :) :thumbsu:

As much as I like Fish, if Carlton want another pick in the top 30, they might just offer up Fisher to another club. I'm not saying that i'd be happy about that, just that they might do it.

I think that will be a big mistake if they did that

The Mick McGuane trade re-visited.....

How? When McGuane came to carlton he was finished, Davis is a long way from being finished. As for trading Fish, if we did trade him we would get a good pick, so how does that relate to Mcguane?

sorry to say this mate but I don't think Nick Davis's time with the swans is over yet. right now he apparantly is not up to the level of fitness that Paul Roos needs him to be in and thats probably the only thing stopping him playing. Doubt there are plans to trade him but we will see

......

Absolutely Not! We are finally getting together some impressive younger players, and have got rid of several players whose attitude was detrimental. This would be a massive backward step. Davis and Aka will probably end up at the Dons who are the AFL's unofficial Retirement Village. :)

He hasn't even stamped himself as a good solid performer yet, I don't see anything that stands out that will make him a star.

He hasn't got a big build,he hasn't got pace, he's not great if he doesn't mark the ball, isn't an outstanding tackler/pressure forward.

He can take a mark on the lead and can take a contested mark, you need more than that to be a star.

Read the responses from Carlton supporters. We don't want him anyway!
