I love Nick Maxwell.
Best Captain in the comp by a long way.
Counterpoint his game, us getting licked with that of Hodge with a 3 goal lead.
One man led and one man dawdled.

To me there is so much more merit in being the struggler that did than the gun who just could not quite.

Apparently he has cracked ribs too. A couple of injections will fix that up, but yeah, again he just does what's needed even under pressure. You can rely on him doing his job.

Good game by Maxy but he was more influential last week. Admittedly the rumored cracked ribs might have had something to do with it.

Sorry to post on your board, but I want to congratulate Maxwell for not trying to claim he touched that first Hawks goal of the night bouncing in the goal square. We could do with some more honesty like that on the field. More than what can be said for Geelong who claimed to touch pretty much every Hawks goal for the night 2 weeks ago.

You guys got it a lot against Sydney as well. Seems to be something that has been creeping into games lately. Not great to watch, especially when players are in the face of the umpires.

Not sure how many doubted his leadership, but some doubted his place in the best 22 (myself among them). For the second year in a row, he made me look silly with his outstanding finals performances...

Cracked rib is going to be OK, broken ribs he wouldn't have a chance butcracked with a little protection on it should be good.
