Yeah it's not one of the great mysteries I know, but those tickets are worth about $1,000 each to non-participant clubs when bundled up with GF breakfasts etc. I just wonder whether Carlton gave a few out to their players, or whether Nick shelled out some of his own dosh. Purely speculative, we are unlikely to ever know. Likewise who would he have barracked for?

I think he would've barracked for Port.

I do feel that he has some real remorse for what happened and while it is easy for him to say now, if he had his time over again he would've stayed.

Also I think he will go okay as a coach (even if it only be as an assistant) somewhere down the track at AFL level.

GLENELG football coach and former Port Adelaide and Carlton AFL star Nick Stevens is facing dozens of assault charges against an ex-partner.
Stevens, 34, who played 127 AFL games with Port Adelaide, and 104 games for Carlton, was charged after a complaint was made against him last year.

Amazing when something goes wrong the guy is an 'Ex- Port star'.
If Stevens had been awarded the Victoria Cross it would be, 'Former Carlton star and current Glenelg Coach.'

I would imagine that if these charges are proven it would be the end of Stevens' coaching career.

The article lists every senior club he's played for or coached. We haven't been treated harshly in any way. Don't go looking for conspiracies that aren't there. It diminishes our argument when we do actually have cause to be aggrieved.

Professional journalists should have come up with a more appropriate headline like "fat neck self serving campaigner allegedly slaps his wife like a spineless twat"

Are we talking verbal abuse or physical abuse? The former is ok with me - shit footy coaches would be locked up every day if a player took them to court for verbal abuse. The later is unacceptable.
